Westwood and Niemann tied atop LIV Golf Singapore leaderboard as dramatic final round looms

Lee Westwood and Joaquin Niemann share the lead heading into the final round of LIV Golf Singapore after 54 holes at Sentosa Golf Club. Bryson DeChambeau and Richard T. Lee sit just one shot behind while 4Aces GC lead the team competition in a tightly contested tournament.

Veteran Englishman Lee Westwood and Chile’s Joaquin Niemann will head into Sunday at LIV Golf Singapore locked together atop the leaderboard, setting up a compelling final day at Sentosa.

Westwood, the Majesticks Golf Club co-captain, produced another composed display to move to 10-under par through 54 holes. It leaves the 52-year-old on the brink of what could be one of the most notable victories of his long career.

Westwood, who made birdies on three of his final four holes to shoot a 3-under 68 in difficult conditions at Sentosa Golf Club, said:

“I’m 53 on the 24th of April, so at that stage, it would probably be the best win of my career.

“All of my wins have special memories, but to still be competitive at my age and up there and having chances to win tournaments like this is validation for driving myself on and doing all the hard work and practice that nobody sees and still being competitive and having a good enough game to compete against them.”

LIV Golf Singapore leaderboard sees Westwood roll back the years

Westwood’s return to form has been particularly notable given he missed the first two events of the 2026 LIV Golf season with a tendon injury in his left wrist. The injury occurred while he was practising at home and attempting to generate ball speeds of around 180 mile an hour on his simulator.

After returning to action with a tie for 18th in Hong Kong last week the 52 year old has quickly rediscovered his rhythm in Singapore and now heads into Sunday’s final round sharing the lead.

After easing back into competition with a tie for 18th in Hong Kong last week, Westwood has quickly rediscovered his rhythm. Now he will play in the final group of a LIV Golf event for the first time in his career.

Niemann surges into contention

Standing alongside him is Niemann, the Torque GC captain whose steady climb through Saturday’s round produced a 5-under 66. The Chilean mixed seven birdies with two bogeys to join Westwood at the summit.

Niemann commented:

“I hit the ball unbelievable today compared to the other days. I was able to see the ball in the windows that I was seeing in my mind. Yeah, it was nice. I played pretty confident. I was able to attack a lot of pins.”

For Niemann the stakes are equally significant. A victory would be his eighth LIV Golf title which would move him three clear of any other player in league history. He has also shown a ruthless ability to finish tournaments from the front. Each of the previous four times he has led or shared the lead heading into the final round he has gone on to win.

The 27-year-old is also chasing another milestone. Should he prevail he would become only the second player to successfully defend a LIV Golf title after Brooks Koepka achieved the feat in Jeddah.

LIV Golf Singapore leaderboard remains tight after Round 3

Bryson DeChambeau remains firmly in the picture despite surrendering the lead during a difficult third round. The Crushers GC captain began Saturday three shots clear but struggled with the putter on his way to a 1-over 72.

DeChambeau said:

“For some reason there wasn’t as much wind around there and I guess the greens got slower in that area and I three-putted a few of them and that cost me some momentum. Other than that, I played great golf. I almost played just as good as yesterday, just things didn’t line up.”

Three birdies kept him competitive yet four bogeys slowed his progress. Even so DeChambeau will start the final round just one shot off the lead. On Sunday he will join Westwood and Niemann in the final group which creates a fascinating generational contrast. Westwood is 52 while DeChambeau is 32 and Niemann only 27.

Richard T. Lee chases historic Wild Card victory

Richard T. Lee has also forced his way into contention. The Canadian carded a 2-under 69 and sits tied for third alongside DeChambeau at 9-under.

Lee is competing this week as a LIV Golf Wild Card and has already achieved something unprecedented. No Wild Card player has ever won an individual LIV Golf event and none has finished higher than tied for 12th. With one round remaining Lee has the chance to rewrite that history.

Rahm and Garcia produce standout rounds

Just behind the leading group sits Jon Rahm at 7-under. The Spaniard posted an even-par 71 which ended his remarkable run of 23 consecutive rounds under par in LIV Golf competition. Rahm still struck the ball superbly however hitting 17 greens in regulation which matched his best statistical performance in the league.

The Legion XIII captain arrived in Singapore full of confidence after his recent victory in Hong Kong, where he produced a dominant performance to claim the title. Despite his steady third round in Singapore ending his under-par streak, Rahm remains firmly within striking distance heading into Sunday.

Elsewhere in the field Sergio Garcia delivered the round of the day with a 6-under 65. It was the lowest score on Saturday and marked his best single-round performance since joining LIV Golf. His Fireballs GC team also surged collectively with an 11-under effort which was their strongest team round since they won in Singapore last year.

Cam Smith added a quirky highlight to the day by birdieing all four par-3s. It is only the third time a player has achieved that in LIV Golf competition.

The battle extends to team event

While the individual race promises drama the team battle is equally unpredictable.

4Aces GC stormed into the lead thanks to three under-par rounds from their lineup. Dustin Johnson and Anthony Kim each fired 68 while Thomas Pieters added a 70 to push the team to 16-under for the week.

Thomas Detry slipped back with a 73 after opening the tournament with rounds of 68 and 67 yet the team still surged ahead. Should the Aces hold their advantage on Sunday they would secure victories in back-to-back events for the first time since the inaugural LIV Golf season in 2022.

Ripper GC and Legion XIII remain close behind

The chasing pack remains close. Ripper GC and reigning Team Champions Legion XIII sit just two shots behind.

Ripper’s charge was driven by Australian Elvis Smylie who produced the only bogey-free round on Saturday. His 4-under 67 included an eagle and two birdies while a flawless scrambling performance kept the card spotless, converting 7-of-7 scrambling opportunities.

Legion XIII meanwhile relied on Tyrrell Hatton who delivered a steady 2-under 69 to keep his side firmly in contention.

Crushers GC suffer costly setback

Crushers GC endured the sharpest fall of the day. The team entered Saturday holding a three-shot advantage but collectively stumbled to 9-over par. With every player finishing over par the Crushers slipped dramatically to sixth place.

LIV Golf Singapore leaderboard sets up dramatic final round

Conditions also played their part across the course. The par-4 third proved especially punishing with only 14 players finding the green in regulation. Across the field players averaged 1.82 putts after hitting greens which ranks among the highest figures in league play outside the inaugural season.

All signs now point toward a gripping finale in Singapore. A seasoned champion chasing a late-career triumph. A proven closer hunting another record. A crowded leaderboard and a volatile team race.

Sunday at Sentosa promises plenty.
