Including the Ryder Cup, the US has now won six of its last seven international competitions, including five consecutive ones at home.
They dominated in the first two days but Trevor Immelman’s team outscored them on Saturday, winning four points but still trailing by five overall.
On Sunday the US won six matches and tied for one but the outcome was not as predictable as the end results would make it seem.
“It’s always hard to win,” said Xander Schauffele. “It was close. It was stressful. And what you saw there [at the end] was a big sigh of relief.”
