Nelly Korda signed for a 5-under 67 on Friday and takes a 2-shot lead into the weekend at the ANA Inspiration. But it wasn't struggle-free.

She missed the fairway on the second hole, the only one she missed, and was out of position all the way until she made an 18-foot putt. She then had to make a 25-foot putt on the third hole to preserve her position.

''I did not know what I was doing on those two holes. 'I was happy those two went in. Golf is just all about momentum, so you roll one in here and there and it just makes it a lot easier.''

She missed only four greens, and took 26 putts on the sun-baked and fast greens.

''Definitely very happy with my putting today, and I was superbly happy with bogey-free,'' she said. ''The thing out here is you hit a solid putt and it keeps on going. You think it's going to stop, and it just keeps on releasing, so then you're like, 'This is a good putt, this could possibly go in,' and then it releases 5 to 6 feet because that's just how it is out here. I had a lot of 5- and 6-footers for par today.''

She will be joined in the final group by Mirim Lee at 9-under, who was also bogey free and signed for a 65, and Lexi Thompson tied for third at 7-under.
