Overnight co-leader Ryan Gerard fired two eagles at the par-5s 3rd and 11th, as well as four birdies and five bogeys to close with 13 points for a total of 47 and victory at the Barracuda Championship.

“It’s always difficult. You just don’t want to catch yourself like almost daydreaming out there. I kind of gave myself a little bit of time last night, this morning to kind of think about what it would mean to me to win, kind of fully like kind of branch it out, and from then on I just kind of tried to lock in and made it my goal to just repeat one shot at a time over and over to myself for basically the entire day,” said the American.

“So, yeah, I had a really good talk with Pepsi out there on a couple of holes. There is a lot of golf left. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Just go out there and keep doing what we been doing and hitting quality shots.

“We made it. It worked out.”

This first PGA Tour title came in his 47th career start at the age of 25, converting his first career 54-hole lead/co-lead on Tour and was his fourth top-10 of the season (9th/Texas Children’s Houston Open, 2nd/Valero Texas Open, T8/PGA Championship).

“I don’t really know if I’ve had a chance to really realize it yet, but it is special,” said Gerard.

“It’s one of those things that when you’re a kid it’s just all you dream of doing. Put in a lot of hours trying to get here, and, yeah, it’s pretty cool. It’s really special. It’s something that I can take with me forever and hopefully it’s the first of many.”

South African Eric van Rooyen made one eagle at the par-5 15th, three birdies and two bogeys for 11 points and second place with a total of 44. The 2021 Barracuda Championship winner collected his third career runner-up finish on Tour and second this season (T2/2024 Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches, 2nd/2025 The CJ Cup Byron Nelson).

Enland’s Todd Clements fired nine birdies and two bogeys for 16 points and finished third with a total of 39. The DP World Tour member was playing in his fifth PGA Tour start and second at the Barracuda Championship.

Beau Hossler remained bogey-free and made an eagle at the par-5 11 for 17 points and a share of fourth place with a total of 37.

Fellow American Max MacGreevy fired eight birdies for 16 points and a share of fourth place alongside South African Jacques Kruyswijk who made an eagle at the par-4 9th and one bogey for 10 points.

54-hole co-leader Rico Hoey of the Philippines dropped down into T8 with 43 points in total after opening with a double bogey and making five bogeys and four birdies for 0 points and his second top-10 of the season (T7/ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic.

Since 2012, the Barracuda Championship has been played using Modified Stableford scoring system, allocating points based on the number of strokes taken at each hole, with the goal of achieving the highest overall number of points.
