Keegan Bradley signed for a 72 to take a one-shot win at 12-under at the BMW Championship, his seventh PGA Tour victory in his 352nd start at the age of 38. The American has won in back-to-back seasons for the first time since his first two seasons on Tour (2011, 2012).
Bradley started the week No. 50 in the FedExCup, in last place to qualify for the BMW Championship, and moves to No. 4 to advance to the Tour Championship for the sixth time.
“I’m in a bit of a state of shock because there was a time a week ago about this time that I didn’t think I was going to be coming here,” said Bradley. “I had to have a lot of magical things happen for me to just play in this tournament, and when I got here, I was so grateful just to be here. I played with a real sense of calm all week, which is not the norm for me.
“I’m really proud of the way that I played.”
Fellow American Sam Burns closed with a 65 to finish in a tie for second at 11-under alongside Sweden’s Ludvig Åberg (71) and Australia’s Adam Scott (72).
“Not quite the roller coaster that Saturday was, but 10, 11, 12 kind of blew it for me there. I was in position with wedges on every hole and made three bogeys. That’s almost unthinkable, really,” said Scott.
“I definitely struggled on the greens on the weekend. Just didn’t quite have the confidence in some of those putts. I generally played fairly well. I thought I played well off the tee today, which was nice. But just didn’t take advantage from there.
“It’s amazing it came down to one shot, but I felt like my bogeys on 10, 11, 12 gave Keegan a bit of breathing space, and the pressure wasn’t really on him, and he didn’t make any mistakes.”
Scott finishes runner-up for the second time in his last four starts (Genesis Scottish Open). He moves from No. 41 to No. 14 in the FedExCup, reaching the Tour Championship for the 10th time in the FedExCup era (since 2007) and first since 2022. He failed to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs last season for the first time in his career.
