Brooks Koepka came close to winning his first tournament since August 2024 as he finished fourth at the FedEx Open de France on Sunday.
The American, who missed his previous two cuts in Europe at the BMW PGA Championship and Irish Open, opened up with rounds of 69 and 68 to head into the weekend with a decent chance of winning.
A Saturday 65 saw him finish the day tied for the lead alongside Min Woo Lee and it looked as though he had a great chance of victory.
Two birdies and an eagle on the front nine ensured Koepka went into the final nine goals on 15-under.
Unfortunately, the five-time major champion wasn’t able to pull away, making par on six straight holes before dropping a shot at the 15th.

He went on to par the final three holes to finish at 14-under for the week, narrowly missing out to Michael Kim.
It certainly marked a return to form for Koepka. What next for the American, however?
Where is Brooks Koepka playing next?
Koepka, of course, missed out on a place in Keegan Bradley’s Ryder Cup team this year, but he acknowledged that it was all his own doing.
“I played my way off it so I can’t be disappointed,” admitted Koepka.
“I did it myself. It’s not anything I’m not aware of. I’m not shying away from it. It’s just bad timing.
“You have one down year but if it’s the year after the Ryder Cup it’s a whole lot easier to play catch-up.”

This will be the first Ryder Cup without the 35-year-old since 2014, but this could be the catalyst to drive him forward.
While his first two weeks on the DPWT this month weren’t the best, Koepka’s performance in France could be a sign of things to come.
Indeed, he will tee it up at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at the start of October. Koepka has four top-ten finishes at the tournament and will hoping to end his winless drought in Scotland.
If so, it could give him a bolt of confidence.
