February 14-17
Riviera Country Club, Pacific Palisades, California
$7,400,000

Round 1, Round 1 reset, Round 2, Round 3

On a marathon day where the leaders played 34 holes, J.B. Holmes held on through strong winds that played havoc with the greens and won the Genesis Open by one shot.

Justin Thomas came into the final round with a four-stroke lead and had lost it after six holes. He then four-putted the 13th and three-putted the 14th to finish 4-over.

Holmes was also affected by gusts of wind and three-putted a the 11th but made some crucial putts including a 10-footer to save par at the 16th.

He parred the last two holes to finish at 1-over 70 for a 14-under, 270 total and won his fifth career title.

"We wanted to put on a good show for everybody, so me and Justin thought we'd three-putt a couple of times from short distances," he joked.

"It's the way you want to win, come down the end and hit shots and make some key putts. It had to be exciting to watch."

"It's been a few years since I won so it's a good feeling," he said.

Thomas finished second at 13-under, 271 and lamented his handling of the wind on the greens.

"It's something I've needed to get better at and it unfortunately showed a flaw in my game."

"I could feel the wind coming and I got scared so I hit it harder and that's why I missed it," he said.

"I jammed it and that's not the speed I hit putts at when I'm putting well. Every time I've missed a short putt it's from a similar scenario. It ended up costing me the tournament."

"J.B. won, he played great but it's always a bummer to hand a tournament. I feel like I should have won that thing."

Tournament host Tiger Woods closed with a 72 and tied for 15th at 6-under.
