Eugenio Chacarra started the day with a share of the lead and made two bogeys and a single birdie on Saturday to close with a 73 and take the solo lead at 3-under into the final day at the Hero Indian Open.
“It was windy,” said the Spaniard. “It was probably the most windy day we had out there so I knew I needed to have a lot of patience today.
“I think I played great. My ball-striking was incredible like it’s been all week, so that was nice.
“I’m very pleased with this score, I think it was playing tough. This course, we know what it is, one bad swing and you can get a big number.
“So I’m pleased with it but it’s time to reset, talk to my team and see what we can do better for tomorrow.”
South Africa’s Brandon Stone fired four birdies and three bogeys to card a 71, equaling the lowest round of the day, and climb into a share of second place at 2-under
Defending champion and overnight co-leader Keita Nakajima of Japan shares second place after making fourteen consecutive pars before bogeys at the 15th and 17th for a 74.
Sweden’s Jens Dantorp and England’s Matthew Jordan both signed for 73s for a share of fourth place at 1-under.
