Hero World Challenge R2

Hovland takes one-shot lead

Defending champion Viktor Hovland closed with a 70 on another windy day in the Bahamas to take a one-shot lead into the weekend of the Hero World Challenge.

“It’s kind of strange, like I knew it was windy and I feel like I missed so many putts,” said the Norwegian. “And I still don’t feel like I’m hitting it very good. I’m not comfortable over the ball, but the ball’s going straight and I’m giving myself looks.

Masters champion Scottie Scheffler lies in a share of second place at 4-under and could move back to World number 1 with a win on Sunday.

Fellow Americans Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young and Collin Morikawa are tied alongside him.
