LIV Golf has announced plans to introduce a unified agronomic evaluation and preparation framework across its 14-event global season, placing a renewed emphasis on course conditioning, sustainability and long-term venue legacy.

The league will work alongside The R&A Sustainable Agronomy Service and the USGA Green Section, drawing on their combined expertise to help host venues deliver consistent, championship-calibre playing conditions in an environmentally responsible manner.

Ross Hallett, EVP, Head of Events at LIV Golf, said:

“Our commitment to delivering championship-caliber playing conditions and world-class competition across the LIV Golf League is strengthened by our alignment with The R&A Sustainable Agronomy Service and the USGA Green Section.”

LIV Golf Partners with R&A and USGA to Elevate Course Conditions

Unified Agronomic Framework Across Global Events

Under the initiative, LIV Golf will apply shared agronomic standards across all tournaments while still allowing each course’s individual character and design to remain intact. The framework is designed to raise baseline conditions without imposing a one-size-fits-all approach on host venues.

Hallett elaborated:

“Across 14 host cities worldwide, the preparation of our courses is fundamental to the success of each event. By implementing a comprehensive agronomic framework informed by the expertise of golf’s leading entities, we are able to elevate competitive standards year after year and ensure playing environments reflect the highest levels of professional sport.”

Sustainable Golf Course Management at the Forefront

The R&A Sustainable Agronomy Service and the USGA Green Section are widely respected for advising clubs and competitions around the world on modern turf management, sustainability and long-term course stewardship. Their guidance enables superintendents to adapt to local conditions while preserving the distinct identity of each venue and delivering championship-level playing environments.

LIV Golf officials say the move reflects a broader commitment to creating a meaningful and lasting impact at host courses, supported by continued investment in course conditioning, facilities and infrastructure, alongside sustainability initiatives designed to reduce environmental impact.

Expanding on that approach, Hallett said:

“Our athletes are among the most competitive and knowledgeable in the game, and competing on courses prepared to exacting global standards is essential to supporting both performance evolution and sustained excellence. We appreciate the continued leadership of The R&A and the USGA and their enduring commitment to advancing the game at the highest level.”
