LIV Golf Chicago is the penultimate individual event of the 2025 season, marking the first of three consecutive tournaments held stateside.
Indeed, after Chicago, the LIV Golf League travels to Indianapolis, where the individual champion will be decided, before Michigan hosts the Team Championship at the end of the month.
Joaquin Niemann holds a 37-point advantage at the top of the standings. Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau are hot on his heels, but it will take an almighty collapse from the Chilean to lose out on the individual title.

Rahm’s Legion XIII is leading the way in the team standings, however, and they have certainly been the most consistent quartet across the entire season.
While there is a tussle at the top, there are several big names who could well be relegated from the LIV Golf League in the next few weeks.
Golfers finishing 49th or lower are in danger of relegation. Ian Poulter, Anthony Kim and Mito Pereira are currently on the brink of losing their place for the 2026.

Chicago, therefore, represents an opportunity for those near the bottom of the standings to make a move.
Course details: Bolingbrook Golf Club
The first two LIV events held in Chicago were played at Rich Harvest Farms. Last year, Bolingbrook Golf Club took over hosting duties in 2024, and the course will be the host once again this year.
The 7,104-yard course was designed by Steve Forrest and Arthur Hills and features seven lakes, elevated tees, and a 156-yard par 3 to a Sawgrass-esque island green.
Bolingbrook is a municipal course, and while it may not be the longest course on the LIV Golf schedule, it offers plenty of challenges. Especially with the sheer volume of water hazards throughout the track.
LIV Golf Chicago 2025: Format and prize fund
LIV Golf Chicago will be played over 54 holes across three days, with a shotgun start each day and no cut.
Every player in a team competes in two competitions simultaneously—individual and team—with each stroke counting in the individual event, whereas only the combined scores of the team’s top three players count for the opening two rounds.
All four scores count in the final round of each event.
There is a $25m prize fund on offer. $20m is assigned to the individual competition, with $5m going towards the team event.
The winner will take home a $4m share, with last place earning $50,000. In the team event, £3m goes to the winning foursome as the second and third place finishers win $1.5m and $500,000 respectively.
How to watch LIV Golf Chicago
Viewers in the US can watch all of the action on Fox Sports. Those in the UK will now be able to watch the entire 2025 season on ITVX due to the new broadcasting deal that was agreed in February.
