LIV Golf Indianapolis preview: Everything you need to know

Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann will battle it out for the 2025 LIV Golf individual title in Indianapolis this week

LIV Golf Indianapolis marks the final event of the 2025 individual campaign as Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann go head-to-head for the title.

Last year, Rahm prevailed against the Chilean to secure the LIV Golf individual crown in what was his maiden season on the breakaway league.

Fast forward 12 months later and the stage is set for another final event showdown between the pair.

Niemann currently leads the individual standings by just 12.27 points. This means that a second-place finish will guarantee him the title, even if Rahm goes on to win the tournament.

While most of the focus will surround those two, there are several players who face relegation from the LIV Golf league.

Indeed, Ian Poulter, Andy Ogletree, Mito Pereira and Anthony Kim are in the drop zone heading into the final event this week, meaning they will be relegated.

Both Henrik Stenson and Lee Westwood occupy 48th and 47th place in the standings. If results don’t go their way, the duo could still finish in the drop zone.

It promises to be an exciting final individual event to wrap up the 2025 season, with plenty to play for at both ends of the standings.

Course details: The Club at Chatham Hills

The Club at Chatham Hills is a fitting place to host the final event of the regular season.

The par-72, 7,334-yard course was designed by the legendary Pete Dye, and it is arguably his last great course.

Dye was behind Sawgrass and Whistling Straits, which have created a wonderful course located north of Indianapolis.

Water comes into play on several holes, including the 460-yard 4th, as players will have to avoid the drink all down the right side of the fairway.

The 18th is one of the most difficult holes on the course. Measuring in at 448 yards, those in contention will have to battle a tricky uphill final hole to claim victory.

An epic final day showdown between two of the best in the business deserves a stunning course to play host.

Chatham Hills will surely live up to expectations this week.

LIV Golf Indianapolis 2025: Format and prize fund

LIV Golf Indianapolis will be played over 54 holes across three days, with a shotgun start each day and no cut.

Every player in a team competes in two competitions simultaneously—individual and team—with each stroke counting in the individual event, whereas only the combined scores of the team’s top three players count for the opening two rounds.

All four scores count in the final round of each event.

There is a $25m prize fund on offer. $20m is assigned to the individual competition, with $5m going towards the team event.

The winner will take home a $4m share, with last place earning $50,000. In the team event, £3m goes to the winning foursome, as the second and third place finishers win $1.5m and $500,000 respectively.

How to watch LIV Golf Indianapolis
