After four events of the 2025 LIV Golf season, there have been few surprises. Joaquin Niemann has won two individual titles – in Adelaide and Singapore – while Fireballs GC have claimed the three previous team titles.
Led by Sergio Garcia, Fireballs GC also features Abraham Ancer and Spaniards David Puig and Luis Masaveu.
They are just one of the 13 teams competing throughout the 2025 season. indeed, 54 players have been split into one of these teams, who are led by a captain.
Since the breakaway tour was established in 2022, 4Aces GC, Crushers GC and Ripper GC have claimed the team championship held at the end of every season.
With plenty of events left for teams to improve their standings in the race for the team title, we at Golf Today profile each team of the 2025 LIV Golf roster.
Let’s dive in, starting with 4Aces GC.
Who are the 4Aces GC LIV Golf team?
4Aces GC is comprised of team captain Dustin Johnson, Thomas Pieters, Patrick Reed and Harold Varner III, who have won three major titles between them.
Dustin Johnson
The 40-year-old was one of the first players to defect from the PGA Tour to join LIV in 2022, sealing a deal worth around $125m to headline the then Greg Norman-fronted tour.
Winner of the two major championships – 2016 U.S. Open and the 2020 Masters – Johnson is arguably one of the finest golfers of his generation. The American has also claimed 22 PGA Tour titles, winning nearly $75m in prize money.
Since joining LIV, Johnson has been the captain of 4Aces GC, who he led to the team title in 2022. Individually, the South-Carolina born star has won three times, once across each of the first three seasons.
A T5 finish at the Singapore event was his best of the season, yet he finds himself occupying 26th in the individual standings currently.
Thomas Pieters
At one stage, Thomas Pieters looked like the new darling of European golf. During the 2016 Ryder Cup – his debut in the event – Pieters scored four points from five matches, despite team Europe suffering a 17-11 defeat.
It was a bright showing indeed and the Belgian golfer went on to finish T4 in the 2017 Masters just a few months later, before adding another three DP World Tour titles to his name.
He joined LIV in February 2023, initially playing for Range Goats GC before joining the 4Aces GC in December 2024 ahead of the new season.
Pieters’ highest finish of 2025 was a T12 in Adelaide, as he has yet to hit his best from this campaign.
Patrick Reed
If Pieters was once looked upon as a potential star for European golf a few years ago, Patrick Reed was perhaps the same equivalent in the USA, with just a tad more controversy.
At the same Ryder Cup which saw Pieters shine, Reed embraced his ‘Captain America’ moniker, defeating Rory McIlroy in an enthralling singles match on the final day to lead the USA to their first win since 2008.
From an individual standpoint, Reed won the Masters in 2018 – pipping McIlroy again – while winning eight further PGA Tour titles.
The 34-year-old joined LIV in 2022, immediately joining the 4Aces GC, helping them win the inaugural team championship.
Individual finishes of sixth (2023) and 20th (2024) during his first two full seasons proved the move to the breakaway tour was justified, although he sits 29th after four events in 2025.
Harold Varner III
Harold Varner III spent seven years on the PGA Tour without winning a single title, with his best finish coming at the RBC Heritage in 2021, trailing winner Stewart Cink by four shots.
The 34-year-old joined LIV in August 2022 and won his first individual event at the Washington D.C. event in May 2023, prevailing over Branden Grace by one stroke.
This season, he hasn’t finished lower than 21st across any tournament and sits above the likes of Tyrrell Hatton, Dustin Johnson and Cameron Smith in the individual standings.
