Four events of the 2025 LIV Golf season have been completed and Joaquin Niemann is the outstanding individual candidate so far.
Indeed, the Chilean has won twice – Adelaide and Singapore – along with finishes of T33 and T12 in Riyadh and Hong Kong. This means he sits atop of the rankings having amassed 84.66 points.
Niemann has dominated early doors from an individual standpoint. The Fireballs GC are the most consistent team, however, winning the previous three events to hold an 18-point lead at the top of the table.
The Sergio Garcia-led team may be ahead of the pack, but there are a cluster of teams towards the bottom of the table who are struggling.
Cleeks GC are currently 11th in the team standings having secured a measly four points after four events so far in 2025.
Smash GC (one point) and Iron Heads (0 points) are the only two teams beneath them in the table. Indicating that they require something special in order to move up the standings.
In our second team profile on Golf Today, just who makes up Cleeks GC?
Which LIV Golf players are in Cleeks GC?
Martin Kaymer, winner of two major championships during his career, is the team captain of Cleeks GC, which also features Richard Bland, Frederik Kjettrup and Adrian Meronk.
Martin Kaymer
Kaymer won the 2010 PGA Championship and the 2014 U.S. Open during an impressive career. The German also has 23 professional victories, won three Ryder Cups and enjoyed a stint as the world’s best golfer in 2011.
After years of poor performances, the German joined LIV in 2022, becoming captain of Cleeks GC in the process.
The team has won just one team title – LIV Houston in 2024 – while Kaymer finished 49th last year, only avoiding relegation due to his status as team captain.
Richard Bland
Bland won the British Masters in 2021, securing his first win on our after 478 tournaments, before making the switch to LIV in 2022 ahead of the inaugural event in London.
Across the first three seasons, Bland’s top 24 finishes have ensured he has remained with Cleeks GC. Last year, the Englishman won the senior PGA Championship and the senior U.S. Open. Thus becoming the first man since Arnold Palmer to win on their first two senior starts.
Frederik Kjettrup
The Danish golfer was a new addition to the LIV Golf league for the 2025 season, joining up with Kaymer’s Cleeks GC team.
He won three times on the PGA Tour Americas having previously studied at Florida State University.
Adding the Dane to the roster is part of LIV’s desire to sign the best young talent in the game and giving them an opportunity to showcase their abilities.
Adrian Meronk
Meronk was perhaps unlucky to miss out on Luke Donald’s 2023 Ryder Cup team. Having won tournaments such as the Australian Open, Italian Open and Irish Open during a ten-month spell, he was overlooked for the biennial event.
This snub was clearly the final straw for the Polish golfer, who sealed a move to LIV in January 2024. He failed to win throughout the 2024 season, but sealed a 17th place finish in the individual standings. This ensured his return to Cleeks GC for this year.
Victory at the opening event of the season in Riyadh has given him some momentum. Don’t be surprised if he seals another victory or two by the end of 2025.
