Picciolo Etna Golf Resort & SPA has opened its doors for the winter season once again, welcoming guests back at a time of year when Mount Etna reveals an entirely different character.

Winter combination of skiing and golf
This winter presents the special opportunity to experience Mount Etna with snow on its slopes and green fairways below. Guests can combine skiing at Piano Provenzana, just 30 minutes from the resort, with golf on Sicily’s first 18-hole course, or explore the volcano more slowly through guided excursions and snowshoe trails across its extraordinary terrain.
After several years of seasonal closure, the return to year-round operation follows extensive renovations and the resort’s recent launch within the Curio Collection by Hilton, with winter bringing a quieter rhythm to the region while Taormina’s festive atmosphere over the Christmas period adds further appeal for those seeking culture alongside outdoor activity.
Special Winter Packages
Special winter packages are now available through the resort website, including a 15 per cent discount on winter stays. Visitors can enjoy the newly refurbished spa, heated indoor pool and seasonal menus built around local produce, as well as the calm of open fairways and wide views across snow-capped Etna.
See in the New Year on Etna
The resort will also host a New Year’s Eve celebration from €315 per person, featuring a gala dinner, live music, spa access and a spectacular firework display above the volcano, with direct bookings now available.
Experience 18 holes to the stunning back-drop of Europe’s tallest volcano
A dedicated golf winter package includes three nights’ accommodation, breakfast, dinner, spa access and one green fee on the championship course with a rate per person per night from €131 for a seven night stay on bed and breakfast basis or €167 for half board.
Another reason to stay
Beyond the resort, visitors can explore Etna wineries, nearby medieval hill towns and film locations made famous by The Godfather and White Lotus.
As part of Hilton’s Curio Collection, Picciolo Etna Golf Resort & SPA participates in Hilton Honors, giving members access to exclusive benefits including discounted rates and Digital Key technology.
Exquisite accommodation & dining with stunning vistas
Reopened in May after a full renovation, Picciolo Etna Golf Resort & SPA offers 100 rooms and suites within its historic manor house, many overlooking vineyards, woodland and the volcano itself. Dining is led by Il Palmento for relaxed lunches and La Ghiandaia for evening service inspired by Sicilian flavours.
“Welcoming guests again in winter marks an important new stage for us. Etna in this season is powerful and peaceful at the same time. To ski with a sea view, to walk across volcanic snow, then return to play golf or enjoy the spa, is an experience that feels truly Sicilian and very special. We are delighted to offer our guests a new way to enjoy the mountain.” Owners Mario Paoluzi and Andrea and Francesco Scrofani
