Bronte Law retained her spot at the top of the leaderboard with a three-under 68 in the second round of the Pure Silk Championship in Williamsburg.

The Englishwoman, who shot an opening-round 65, sits on nine under overall alongside Americans Jacqui Concolino and Jennifer Song.

Law battled through a tough round which saw her hit three bogeys, cancelling them out with six birdies, including three in a row from the par-5 15th.

Speaking afterwards, the 24-year-old said it took a while to get her game going.

"It was a battle," she told the LPGA website.

"It seemed to feel like every time I would make a birdie and try and build on it I would have an unforced error a couple of holes later, make bogey and be back to where I started.

"It took me a while to really get into it. I had a couple of drives that really cost me to build some momentum. I had six birdies out there, so I could have really had another low one.

"But mistakes happen. I'm just going to try to minimise that for the rest of the tournament, because I'm creating enough chances to where I can keep shooting some low scores."

Song also hit a 68 for a share of the lead, carding two bogeys and five birdies, and Concolino followed her first-round 66 with a 67, a bogey on the par-4 9th hole her only blemish.

Carlota Ciganda and Madelene Sagstrom are a shot behind on eight under, while Nelly Korda, Ashleigh Buhai and Nasa Hataoka are tied on seven under.

Scotland's Gemma Dryburgh tumbled from second place to 54th after a disappointing round of 75.
