Sausage Golf Re-Releases Boudin Noir and Design no. 2 Modular Putters

Sausage Golf Re-Releases Boudin Noir and Design no. 2 Modular Putters

Sausage Golf has returned its Boudin Noir and Design no. 2 putters to the market following strong early demand, offering golfers another chance to access its modular designs focused on adjustability, feel and stroke compatibility.

Strong early demand has prompted Sausage Golf to bring its two signature putters back to market, with a new limited release of the Boudin Noir and Design no. 2 following the rapid sell-out of the brand’s first production runs.

The family-run start-up has built a growing cult following by taking a different approach to putter design, prioritising genuine adjustability and feel over fixed specifications. With both models now available once again and in similarly limited quantities, golfers have another opportunity to get hold of putters that have so far been difficult to come by.

Dave Rowles, Creator & Co-Founder of Sausage Golf, said:

“The response to our first two releases told us everything we needed to know; golfers understood what we were trying to do and they valued the ability to genuinely tune a putter to their stroke and feel preferences.

“Boudin Noir and Design no. 2 represent our core philosophy of considered design, meaningful adjustability and feedback through the hands. Making them available again — even in limited numbers — allows us to stay true to how we want to build Sausage Golf while giving more golfers the opportunity to experience them.”

Design and Construction

At the centre of the release is the Boudin Noir, a modern blade-style putter built around adjustability rather than a fixed identity. Designed entirely in-house, the head is machined from aerospace-grade 6061 aluminium and finished in a matte black anodised coating with a high-contrast white alignment aid intended to keep things visually simple at address.

Modular Adjustability and Performance

With an assembled headweight of 365 grams and options for both right- and left-handed players, the Boudin Noir is defined by its modular shaft system. Golfers can configure the putter as toe-hung, face-balanced or low-torque by changing the shaft module, a system Sausage Golf says is designed to let the putter adapt to the stroke rather than the other way around. The modular concept is currently patent pending.

Despite the engineering focus, Sausage Golf has been careful not to chase excessive dampening. Feedback rather than softness for its own sake has been prioritised, with the aim of delivering clearer information through the hands at impact.

That focus on matching the putter to the stroke rather than forcing adaptation reflects a wider conversation around connection and consistency on the greens. As explored in a putting feature from Golf Today, small changes in set-up and how the putter works with the stroke can have a significant impact on feel and confidence over the ball.

Design no. 2 Returns

Original Model and Feel Characteristics

Also returning is Design no. 2, the model that introduced the brand’s modular philosophy. CNC milled from solid 303 stainless steel, it offers a denser, more traditional feel and a stripped-back look, featuring a square topline, a single white alignment mark and a raw stainless finish.

Design no. 2 carries a 360-gram headweight and, like the Boudin Noir, can be built for right- or left-handed golfers. Its modular construction allows players to switch between toe-hung and face-balanced set-ups by altering the shaft position within the head.

Grip, Detailing and Finish

Both models are finished with a classic pistol grip chosen for its neutral profile and emphasis on feel. On the Boudin Noir, subtle detailing including an alignment reference at the base of the grip supports the low-torque configuration without adding distraction at address.

Background and Availability

Founded by a family team with backgrounds spanning yacht design and precision engineering and with roots in both Manchester and the Côte d’Azur, Sausage Golf continues to operate on a small-batch philosophy. Every putter is designed and prototyped in-house, with final finishing carried out by hand to ensure consistency across each run.
