SCHLOSS Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course has enlisted IMG Golf Course Services to provide extensive sales, marketing, and operational support as it continues to solidify its place as one of Scotland’s best resorts following an extensive development across the entire property.
The first stage of this work is nearing completion with the addition of 58 luxury rooms to the impressive on-site hotel, as well as the opening of 12 stand-alone cottages; ideal for groups of visiting golfers from around the world. A further 49 cottages are slated for completion by the end of 2024, creating the perfect base for guests to explore the Roxburghe estate. This development has been coupled with a renovation of the golf pro shop, clubhouse and changing facilities, helping to welcome golfers in style.
IMG will ensure operational excellence and consistency of quality across the golf facilities, as well as creating a strategic business plan which matches the ambitions of SCHLOSS Roxburghe’s executive team. IMG will also provide access to its unrivalled breadth of expertise across talent, events and media, and continue to improve the venue’s domestic and international awareness by creating long-lasting relationships with key media partners, and selected travel specialists.
Additionally, a key part of IMG’s relationship with SCHLOSS Roxburghe will be overseeing a considered golf course redevelopment, designed to cement SCHLOSS Roxburghe’s place as the highest-ranked golfing destination in the Scottish Borders.
The championship layout initially created by Dave Thomas has played host to a number of professional events, with the improvements made to the overall resort – including a luxury spa, heated outdoor swimming pool, and an incredible on-site restaurant – set to make it a true must-play destination for visiting golfers. The golf course lies in the heart of the 50,000-acre country estate, initially owned by the Duke of Roxburgh. As well as providing a stunning backdrop for the 18-hole, Par 72 layout, the land is perfectly suited to a wide-range of outdoor activities, including: fly fishing, clay pigeon shooting, croquet, hiking, archery, and more.
As part of the current development, the venue has partnered with the Hyatt Hotels Corporation to become the first Destination by Hyatt property in the UK, a collection of unique independent hotels from across the globe, and a brand synonymous with travellers craving an unforgettable experience.
On the partnership, Russell Hannah, Vice President at IMG Golf Course Services said: “We’re delighted to begin our partnership with SCHLOSS Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course. It’s already a fabulous golfing destination, but with the ambitious plans from the owners we are sure it will become an essential stop for those visiting Scotland, as well as for golfers from the UK looking for an unforgettable experience at the resort.”
Bruno De Schuyter, General Manager, SCHLOSS Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course added: “IMG have an internationally stellar reputation for helping destinations achieve their full potential, and were the obvious partner for us as we begin this new chapter. We’re excited to be imminently welcoming guests to our hotel and cottages, and look forward to working closely with IMG on the continued development of our championship golf course.”
