The Staysure Legends Tour has lifted the curtain on its 2026 global schedule, ushering in a fresh era for senior men’s professional golf with a new title sponsor, an expanded international footprint and a renewed sense of momentum.

From next season, the circuit will officially compete under the banner of the Staysure Legends Tour, reflecting the arrival of Staysure as title partner. The rebrand brings with it a refreshed visual identity and a calendar that stretches confidently across multiple continents, underlining the Tour’s ambition to grow both its audience and its reach.

David Adams, Managing Director of the Staysure Legends Tour, said:

“We’re incredibly excited to announce our 2026 schedule and to begin this new era as the Staysure Legends Tour. The breadth of the calendar, the quality of the venues and the global nature of the Tour reflect how far it has come.

“With tournaments across the UK and Ireland, Europe, America and Asia, encompassing three senior Majors and world-class destinations, 2026 promises to be a landmark season.”

A New Era Begins for the Staysure Legends Tour in 2026

Staysure Partnership Signals Long-Term Global Ambition

At its core, the Tour remains true to what has made it a compelling fixture on the golfing landscape: elite over-50s competition featuring Ryder Cup captains, Major champions and seasoned winners, complemented by an increasing wave of new faces eager to make their mark. The blend of pedigree and competitiveness continues to define a circuit built on experience, longevity and proven performance.

Elite Over-50s Competition Blends Experience and Depth

The Tour will also continue to provide amateur golfers with unique opportunities to compete alongside legends of the game through its popular pro-am and tournament experience formats, reinforcing its reputation as one of the most accessible elite tours in professional golf.

Global 2026 Schedule Features Iconic Venues and Senior Majors

Costa del Sol Opener Launches International Season

The 2026 campaign began on 20 February on Spain’s Costa del Sol, with Marbella hosting the opening event at Aloha. Local interest was high as Spanish favourites José María Olazábal and Miguel Ángel Jiménez headlined a strong early-season field, but it was Jamie Donaldson who emerged victorious, edging the title by a single shot, with Jiménez finishing fourth.

Caribbean and European Stops Add Variety to the Calendar

From there, the Tour returns to the Caribbean in late April, with a visit to Barbados and the Apes Hill resort for an event hosted by Masters champion Ian Woosnam.

One of the season’s standout dates arrives in August with the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship. Hosted once again by Colin Montgomerie, the flagship event moves to Trump International Scotland in Aberdeen and will make history as the first professional tournament staged on the venue’s New Course – a notable milestone for both the championship and Scottish golf.

Senior Majors Strengthen a Prestigious 2026 Line-Up

The Major championship slate adds further weight to the schedule. Action begins with the Senior PGA Championship in Florida in April, followed by the US Senior Open in Ohio in July, before the season’s Major finale at the ISPS HANDA Senior Open at Gleneagles.

Elsewhere, the calendar reflects the Tour’s growing international stature. A co-sanctioned PGA Tour Champions event in Portugal at the end of July will see many of the game’s global names converge on the Els Club in Vilamoura, while events across the UK and Ireland, mainland Europe, America, Asia and the Caribbean reinforce the Tour’s worldwide appeal.

Strong Momentum Carries Over from a Standout 2025 Season

The announcement follows a highly competitive 2025 season, highlighted by Australian Scott Hend securing the Order of Merit after a dominant campaign.

Emerging Talent and Ryder Cup Pedigree Shape the Field

The year also showcased the Tour’s evolving depth, with rookies and established names sharing the spotlight. Ryder Cup figures such as Jamie Donaldson, Stephen Gallacher and David Howell featured prominently, alongside experienced campaigners including Johan Edfors, Anthony Wall, David Drysdale and Steve Webster. South African Darren Fichardt was named Barry Lane Rookie of the Year after an impressive season competing across multiple tours.

Ryan Howsam, Chairman of both Staysure and the Staysure Legends Tour, added:

“The Staysure Legends Tour represents the very best of the game’s experience and competitive spirit. Aligning Staysure with the Tour allows us to support a global sporting platform built on trust, quality and long-term ambition. The strengthened schedule and new identity reflect the direction of travel and the opportunities ahead.”

Beyond the professional competition, the Tour will continue to place strong emphasis on fan and amateur engagement. Its pro-am and “tournament experience” formats once again offer golfers the rare chance to tee it up alongside some of the sport’s most recognisable names at world-class venues.

Further Schedule Announcements Expected Ahead of 2026 Season

Founded in 1992 and formerly known as the European Senior Tour, the Staysure Legends Tour remains a home for many of the trailblazers of European golf from the 1970s onwards. With Staysure – a leading UK travel insurer for over-50s – now at the helm as title sponsor, the alignment feels a natural one, rooted in shared values of longevity, activity and global outlook.

With more events still to be confirmed, the 2026 season shapes up as another chapter of compelling storylines, iconic venues and high-quality competition for a Tour that continues to grow in confidence and international standing.
