The Masters is over for another year and what a week it was. Rory McIlroy finally completed the career Grand Slam by winning at Augusta National for the first time.
Heading into Sunday, the Irishman was two strokes ahead of LIV golfer Bryson DeChambeau. The final round was supposed to be a battle between the pair to see who would win the event.
Instead, Justin Rose came through the pack to set the clubhouse lead at 11-under. McIlroy made a bogey on the 72nd hole to drop into a playoff with the 2013 U.S, Open champion. Prevailing with a birdie in sudden death.
It was one of the most exciting majors in recent memory and several LIV players performed well at Augusta, while others struggled badly.
For the third year running, at least one player from the breakaway tour finished inside the top three. Patrick Reed securing a solo third place after an impressive final round of 69.
How did the other 11 players perform? We at Golf Today examine the fortunes of those who played in the Masters this year.
Where did every LIV golfer finish at the 2025 Masters?
Patrick Reed – 3rd (-9)
The 2018 champion certainly exceeded expectations and if it weren’t for a dismal three-putt from four feet at the 13th hole on Sunday, he might have made the playoff.
Nevertheless, it was an excellent showing from the American, who will use this as a barometer to improve ahead of the upcoming LIV Golf League events.
Bryson DeChambeau – T5 (-7)
When DeChambeau birdied the second to go one shot clear at the start of the final round, hopes were high he could power to a first Masters title.
He struggled with his irons all week, summed up by missing the 11th green to the left on Sunday, resulting in his ball finding the water.
A final round 75 meant he secured a top-five finish.
Tyrrell Hatton – T14 (-3)
Another decent showing at Augusta by Hatton, but he could have done much better, especially after sitting five-under at the halfway mark.
Rounds of 75 and 71 over the weekend meant he dropped down the leaderboard, but his time will come.
Jon Rahm – T14 (-3)
The Legion XIII captain started in an opposite manner to his teammate Hatton, opening up with rounds of 75 and 71 before finishing fairly well.
If he can produce four solid rounds at a major championship, there is no doubt the Spaniard will contend once again.
Bubba Watson – T14 (-3)
Prior to the 2025 edition, Watson’s last top-15 finish at a major came at the 2019 Masters and his days of contending appeared over.
Shooting a 68 on Sunday proved he still has it in him and it was a good week for the two-time champion at Augusta.
Joaquin Niemann – T29 (even)
Hopes were high for the Chilean heading into the Masters that he could become only the second South American to win the green jacket.
Having won two of the first five individual events of the 2025 LIV Golf League season, Niemann was expected to challenge, but he eventually finished in a tie for 29th, breaking par just once.
Charl Schwartzel – T36 (+2)
Schwartzel was another one who made the cut, but he failed to shoot a round lower than 72 all week.
It was his best Masters performance for three years. This should give him confidence heading into the next couple of events.
Dustin Johnson – Missed cut
The 2020 champion missed the cut by a single stroke, not helped by his seven bogeys and one double across 36 holes. Johnson only recorded six birdies and his chances of winning another major diminish after each one.
Sergio Garcia – Missed cut
Garcia was playing some of his best golf in years in the leadup to the Masters, winning the LIV individual title in Hong Kong.
Rounds of 72 and 76 ended his ambitions of winning another major, although he became just the 19th male golfer to reach 100 career major starts.
Brooks Koepka – Missed cut
Koepka hasn’t challenged in a major since his last win at the 2023 PGA Championship. When he is in full flow, few get the better of him. But this has been few and far between in the big events since making the move to LIV in 2022.
Phil Mickelson – Missed cut
Not much was expected of Mickelson this year. At one stage, it looked as though he was going to make the cut.
He then went double bogey-bogey-par-bogey over his last four holes on Friday to miss the cut by three strokes and he will be disappointed with that finish.
Cameron Smith – Missed cut
Runner up at Augusta in 2020 and T3 in 2022, Smith knows the place well. An opening 71 was solid enough, but the Australian shot a six-over 78 on Friday to miss the cut by three.
