The LIV Golf team has been confirmed as the new title sponsor of the American Junior Golf Association’s Torque GC Championship, marking a multi-year partnership that places junior development at the centre of the team’s wider vision. The event will once again be staged at Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club, returning for a second consecutive year to Florida’s Emerald Coast.

For Torque GC, the agreement reflects more than a commercial alignment. It is a statement of intent about building authentic pathways from elite junior golf to the professional arena. Competing on the global stage of the LIV Golf League, the team’s current lineup offers a compelling blueprint.

Joaquin Niemann, Abraham Ancer and Carlos Ortiz all honed their competitive instincts on the AJGA circuit, widely regarded as the leading development platform for junior golfers pursuing college scholarships and professional careers, before rising to the professional ranks.

Niemann, Captain of Torque GC, said:

“Supporting junior golf through this championship is personal to us. The AJGA played an important role in our development, and now we have the opportunity to create meaningful opportunities for the next generation.

“LIV Golf is built around emerging global talent, and this partnership is about strengthening that pathway, opening doors, raising the standard and helping young players see a clear route from junior golf to the world stage.”

The AJGA, a non-profit organisation with more than 10,000 junior members aged 12 to 19 from across the United States and around the world, has long served as a launchpad for elite amateur talent. Its tournaments provide exposure to college coaches while emphasising leadership and personal growth alongside competitive excellence.

Torque GC Championship Set for June 2026 in Florida

The Torque GC Championship will bring together 78 of the world’s top-ranked junior players from June 9 to 11, 2026, with another 78 earning their chance through a qualifying event on June 8. For many in the field, the week represents a rare opportunity to compete under the spotlight of a professional-backed event while measuring themselves against the very best in their age group.

Niemann’s junior pedigree highlights the caliber of alumni connected to the partnership. A three-time AJGA champion, he claimed back-to-back wins at the Sergio Garcia Foundation Junior Championship and was named a First Team Rolex Junior All-American in 2016. Ortiz competed in seven AJGA events during his development, while Ancer has remained closely involved with junior golf initiatives throughout his professional career.

AJGA Partnership Comes as Torque Builds LIV Momentum

Tournament week will also see Torque GC integrated across AJGA digital coverage and promotional platforms, ensuring the team’s presence is felt both on-site and online as the next generation of talent takes centre stage.

Jason Etzen, AJGA Chief Business Officer, said:

“We are excited to partner with Torque GC to bring the Torque GC Championship to Florida. This event gives young golfers world-class opportunities to compete while creating experiences that shape the future of competitive junior golf.”

The announcement comes as Torque continues to build consistency on the LIV circuit itself. The team opened the season with a runner-up finish at the opening event in Riyadh and currently sits fifth in the overall team standings. A first team victory remains elusive, but the signs of progress are clear.

While success on Sundays is still a work in progress, Torque GC’s investment in junior golf signals a franchise thinking long-term, shaping futures as deliberately as it chases trophies.
