Brooks Koepka and Bubba Watson have announced they will play the Dunhill Links Championship on the DPWT this October

It isn’t often that LIV Golfers play in Scotland, but duo Brooks Koepka and Bubba Watson will tee it up at the Dunhill Links Championship in October on the DP World Tour.

The event is played every year across St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns and is part of the DP World Tour’s ‘Back 9’ series.

Tyrrell Hatton is another from the breakaway league who will play at the event, and he has enjoyed plenty of success in Scotland, winning the Dunhill Links three times, including in 2024.

For Koepka, this will be his fifth time participating in the tournament, while Watson is set to make his debut when the competition begins on 2 October.

Koepka has yet to win the tournament, but his love affair with St Andrews will stand him in good stead ahead of the 2025 event.

“I love Links golf and St Andrews is my favourite course in the world. I could play there every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it.” Said the American, and he will be hoping to improve on his tenth-place finish from last year.

Watson, on the other hand, will be featuring at the Dunhill Links for the very first time. The two-time Masters winner missed the cut during his Open Championship appearances at St Andrews in both 2010 and 2015.

“I’ve heard so much about the event and I’m really looking forward to playing,” said Watson following confirmation of his appearance.

“St Andrews is one of the most special and historic golfing locations in the world, and Carnoustie is among the greatest Open Championship courses. Kingsbarns is a beautiful layout and a challenge in the wind.

“I’m also excited to have my wife, Angie, there with me and get to play with her too. All in all, I think we are in for a great week.”

Koepka sits 30th in the LIV Golf individual standings heading into the final regular event this week. The five-time major winner has finished in the top ten only twice this season.

Watson claimed a second-place finish at LIV Golf UK a few weeks ago, and he occupies 15th place in the standings. This will be enough to seal his spot ahead of the 2026 season.
