Under Armour has further extended its footprint in the golf footwear market with the arrival of the UA Halo Tour SL, a new spikeless model that brings one of the brand’s most recognisable performance franchises onto the fairways.
The Halo Tour SL launched on 20 February 2026, marking a considered evolution rather than a sharp left turn. The shoe draws on the visual language and performance principles that have defined the Halo line in running, reworked to meet the specific physical demands of the golf swing.
Translating Halo Performance DNA from Running to the Golf Swing
Jake Haley, Senior Manager of Golf Footwear and Apparel at Under Armour, explained the thinking behind the transition:
“Halo was designed as a unified performance system, and golf is where that idea really comes to life.
“We took a design language born in running and tuned it for the swing to help players remain centred through transition, manage torque, and stay connected to the ground from address through finish – all while keeping a silhouette that’s clearly Under Armour.”

Designed for Stability, Rotation and Ground Connection
That translation is a deliberate one. Where Halo running footwear is built around forward motion and balance at speed, its golf counterpart adapts those ideas to rotation, alignment and traction through the ground. The result is a shoe designed to support stability and control through the swing, while maintaining a clean, modern silhouette that reflects changing tastes in golf footwear.
The focus on stability and ground connection mirrors a wider conversation in modern golf footwear, particularly around fit and swing support — themes explored in Golf Today’s Ultimate Guide to Men’s Golf Shoes, which looks at what many golfers still get wrong when choosing shoes and how the right platform can influence performance.
A Competition-Ready Golf Shoe with a Modern Aesthetic
Positioned as a structured, competition-ready option, the Halo Tour SL delivers a more performance-led expression of the Halo design ethos. It signals a continued shift towards golf shoes that prioritise athletic feel and contemporary styling, without straying from the composure and clarity that underpin the Halo identity.
Athlete Feedback Reinforces Performance-Led Design
Under Armour athlete Kieron van Wyk added:
“From the first rounds I played in UA Halo Tour SL, I could tell it was built for performance, but at the same time it also looks and feels elevated.
“When I’m competing, I want to feel stable and confident, and I want something that matches the way I show up as a player. Halo delivers both.”

UA Halo Hybrid Extends the Range with Everyday Versatility
The arrival of the Halo Tour SL has been complemented by the introduction of the UA Halo Hybrid, a lighter, more versatile alternative designed to transition easily from the course into everyday wear.
Together, the two models broaden Under Armour’s golf footwear offering with a cohesive design story that places equal emphasis on performance, comfort and modern design.
Strengthening Under Armour’s Modern Golf Footwear Line-Up
The additions follow the recent release of the Drive Pro Clone earlier this month, further strengthening Under Armour’s golf footwear line-up. Taken as a whole, the expanded range offers golfers a wider set of choices across style and function, while keeping fit and performance firmly at the centre of the conversation.
The UA Halo Tour SL (£120 / €155) and UA Halo Hybrid (£100 / €140) are now available — view the full range here.
