Scottie Scheffler strolled to a maiden Open Championship at Royal Portrush and with it, the end of the 2025 major season.
It was an imperious performance by the best golfer in the world, while several of the LIV Golf contingent performed well.

Overall, 19 players from the breakaway tour started the tournament. After two rounds, however, eight of them missed the halfway cut.
Cameron Smith, Brooks Koepka and Louis Oosthuizen were the notable names who struggled at the Dunlace links.
That wasn’t the case for others. Indeed, veterans such as Sergio Garcia and Dustin Johnson played the weekend, finishing T34 and T23 respectively.
Elsewhere, Lee Westwood – who was making his first major start since the 2022 Open – showed flashes of his old self. The Englishman not only made the cut, but he sealed a T34 finish at Portrush.
He might have finished higher were it not for a final round 73, but this will surely give him confidence heading into LIV Golf UK in a few days.
Bryson DeChambeau looked like he was on his way to an early flight home after an opening 78. Somehow, the two-time US Open champion bounced back to shoot rounds of 65, 68 and 64 to seal a miraculous top-ten finish.

Like the three previous majors this year, there were plenty of highs and lows among the 19 LIV Golfers. Where exactly did every player finish at Royal Portrush?
