Matt Kuchar carded a bogey-free 64 including three birdies in his final four holes to move into the lead at 12-under at the Wyndham Championship on Saturday.

“Steady golf but found a lot of fairways. This Bermuda rough is nasty, do not want any part of it. When it’s dry it’s no fun, when it’s wet it’s really no fun. I stayed out of it a good bit and I was able to get the golf ball in my hand, tee it up basically and be able to try to be fairly aggressive with the iron shots.

Kuchar is the only player to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs in each season since the inception of the FedExCup in 2007. He entered the week No. 111 in the FedExCup standings and needs to win to have a chance of qualifying, he is currently projected to move to No. 57.

“[It’s] been a frustrating year, but I feel like the bar’s been set high. I feel like I played a lot of good golf, consistent golf for a long time. Makes the I guess poor golf that much more frustrating. I think the expectations are high. So I continue every week to expect to play good golf and it’s not always gone that way, but nice to see things kind of rounding into form. Hope it’s not too late, hope I still got a chance to continue going.”

At age 46 years, 1 month, 22 days on Monday, he would become the oldest winner on Tour since Phil Mickelson at the 2021 PGA Championship (50 years, 11 months, 7 days).

Rookie Max Greyserman carded a bogey-free 10-under 60, his career-low score on Tour, to move into a tie for second place at 11-under. Greyserman tied for the low round of the week (Beau Hossler/R1). This marks the 50th 60 carded on Tour on record (1983-present).

Chad Ramey signed for a bogey-free 64 to move into his share of second place alongside Cameron Young whose 62 featured two eagles at the par-5s 5th and 15th as well as a double bogey at the par-3 12th.

England’s Aaron Rai, the only non-American in the top-5, shot a 65 featuring an eagle at the par-5 15th to reach 10-under and move into a share of fifth place alongside Billy Horschel (68) and overnight leader Beau Hossler (70).

Play was suspended due to darkness at 8:20 p.m. ET with 20 players left to complete the round. It is scheduled to resume at 6:45 a.m. Sunday. Players will not be regrouped before the final round.

Rookie Joe Highsmith (-5 thru 15) made a hole-in-one at the par-3 12th, becoming the first player to make three holes-in-one in a single season since the Tour began tracking hole-by-hole data in 1983.

Defending champion Lucas Glover (MC) made a hole-in-one at the par-3 12th, his sixth career hole-in-one on Tour (tied for ninth-most since 1983).

The Wyndham Championship is the final event of the FedExCup Regular Season, with the top 70 in the standings qualifying for next week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship (the first FedExCup Playoffs event). 36-hole leader Matt Kuchar is the only player projected to move inside the top 70.

The Wyndham Championship serves as the final opportunity for players to secure their spot inside the Comcast Business TOUR TOP 10, which rewards season-long performance for the top 10 players in the FedExCup standings at the conclusion of the FedExCup Regular Season; the group will share a $40 million bonus, with the No. 1-ranked played earning $8 million.

Two players in the field entered the week inside the top 10: Sungjae Im (No. 9) and Shane Lowry (No. 10); Im (T26/-5) is projected to move to No. 8 and Lowry (MC) is projected to remain No. 10.

Two players can play their way into the Comcast Business TOUR TOP 10 with a win: Brian Harman (T46/-4) and
Christiaan Bezuidenhout (T46/-4); Akshay Bhatia and Robert MacIntyre had a chance to move into the top 10 and missed the cut.
