Daniel Brown carded a 67 to reach 14-under and takes a six-shot lead into the final round of the ISPS HANDA World Invitational presented by AVIV Clinics as he aims to win his first DP World Tour victory. It was his 11th consecutive round in the 60s and the largest 54-hole lead of the season.
“Obviously, there’s still a good way to go yet. But it’s nice to play well and keep that lead and make it a little bit more comfortable than I suppose what it might be. Still one day to go.
“I’ve driven it really well, which tends to be my strength anyway. But I’ve seen around here the rough is pretty juicy in places, so that’s been important. It’s just all seemed to fit together for the vast majority of this week.
“I’m very tired. I played two practice rounds this week, which we wouldn’t normally do over two courses. I hope I’m tired enough to get some rest.”
The Englishman made his debut at the 2015 KLM Open but had to wait seven years and two months to come back to the Tour after coming through Qualifying School.
South Africa’s Wilco Nienaber carded a bogey-free 63 to move into a share of second place at 8-under alongside England’s Alex Fitzpatrick (67).
Spain’s Adrian Otaegui (66) lies in fourth place at 7-under followed by England’s John Parry (67) in fifth at 6-under.
