LIV Golf Indianapolis: Jon Rahm denies Joaquin Niemann individual title

The LIV Golf individual title was once again settled during the final event of the season

For the second successive year, Jon Rahm pipped Joaquin Niemann to the LIV Golf individual title.

LIV Golf Indianapolis marked the conclusion of the season-long points race – a race that Niemann had dominated throughout the year.

Indeed, the Chilean had won five of the first 12 events of the season prior to the conclusion on Sunday, yet Rahm was right in the mix due to his consistency.

The Spaniard shot a final round 60, which saw him finish at 22-under for the tournament, level with Sebastian Munoz.

Despite claiming the individual crown, the two-time major winner lost the resulting playoff to the Colombian.

This means he ended the season without any victory, yet came out the victor when it really mattered and won a staggering $18m in the process.

The LIV Golf individual title battle went down to the wire

Niemann came into the final event knowing that another win would guarantee him the season-long title.

After winning LIV Golf UK a few weeks ago, it looked odds-on that he could secure the crown before Indianapolis.

A T17 finish in Chicago, however, meant his lead was cut significantly, something which Rahm took full advantage of.

Munoz shot an opening round 59 at the tournament, which included a double-bogey, and was certainly the deserving winner of the event at Chatham Hills.

His victory ensured Torque GC – captained by Niemann – won the team title on Sunday and this sets them up nicely ahead of the 14th and final event of the 2025 LIV Golf League season.

The Team Championship takes place at The Cardinal at Saint John’s in Michigan and marks the conclusion to the campaign.

Last year, Ripper GC won in Dallas to seal the championship, with the quartet of Cameron Smith, Marc Leishman, Lucas Herbert and Matt Jones prevailing over 4Aces GC.

Will they retain their title? Or will another team claim victory in Michigan? Only time will tell.
