Collin Morikawa started the day two strokes behind the lead and fired a final-round, 5-under 67 at Pebble Beach featuring seven birdies and two bogeys to reach 22-under and win his seventh PGA Tour title in his 145th start at the age of 29.
The American led the field this week in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green (12.600), Strokes Gained: Approach the Green (9.681).
22-under matches the lowest score relative to par by a winner in tournament history (Brandt Snedeker/2015).
This win came in his 46th start since his last victory at the 2023 Baycurrent Classic (span of 848 days).
“There’s an art to golf and I think with the more and more technology, it’s great to advance and then figure out what you need to do better and how to perfect certain things, how to hit great shots,” said Morikawa.
“But there’s an art and we’re an artists at heart. I’ve gone away from that a little bit. It’s funny I watched my shot yesterday after we played on 17 and the announcer or whoever’s talking saying, oh, man I’m hitting a draw. It’s like I still know how to hit these shots. I play golf, we hit some shots. I just like to play the fade more often than not because I know most of the time what it’s going to do.
“So for me like being able to picture those shots and seeing those, you know, the curvature, how the wind’s going it affect it. Today the best shot I think I hit was probably on — well, 18 was great but on 7, I’ve stood on that tee when it’s been really windy and you start thinking about numbers, you start thinking about is 9-iron enough, is it 8-iron, is it a wedge. I just took out 9-iron. I looked at Mark, we kind of nodded heads.
“It’s all feel, and that’s that artistry I think that a lot of people lose maybe over time. You definitely have that as a kid and it’s how do you get that back. This week was really, really
big for pulling that out.”
Australian Min Woo Lee made one bogey and carded a 65 for a share of second place at 21-under.
Austria’s Sepp Straka made three bogeys and closed with an eagle at the par-5 18th for a 68 and his share of second place.
American World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler made three eagles, at the par-5s 2nd, 6th and 19th, as well as three bogeys to card a final round 9-under 63 and finish T4 at 20-under.
Scheffler is the first player to record three eagles in a round at Pebble Beach Golf Links during the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (since 1983).
This was his eighth consecutive top-five and 18th consecutive top-10 on Tour.
Most consecutive top-five finishes since 1983:
• Tiger Woods: 11 (2007 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational – 2008 US Open)
• Tiger Woods: 8 (2006 BMW Championship – 2007 Farmers Insurance Open)
• Scheffler: 8 (2025 Open Championship-active)
Making his season debut, 2025 FedExCup Champion Tommy Fleetwood of England made one bogey and closed with a 66 for his share of fourth place, earning his 46th top-10 on Tour.
Overnight leader Akshay Bhatia of the USA signed for an even-par 72 having made two bogeys to finish T6 at 19-under.
Defending champion Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland recorded a bogey-free 8-under 64 in the final round, his 12th career final round of 64 or better on the PGA Tour, to finish T14 at 17-under. He has had the third-most final rounds of 64 or better on Tour since 2010 (Webb Simpson/14, Brian Harman/13).
