Staysure Legends Tour documentary offers behind the scenes access
Golf fans have been given a rare glimpse behind the curtain of the professional game after the Staysure Legends Tour released a new documentary series that explores life on one of golf’s most distinctive circuits.
The four-part series titled Final Cut premiered on 4 March, with the opening episode broadcast on Sky Sports and released on YouTube the same day. Further episodes have been rolling out in the weeks since across global broadcasters, giving viewers an in-depth look at the personalities and moving parts that power the Tour.
Inside the story behind the Legends Tour
Ryan Howsam, Chairman of Staysure Legends Tour, said:
“We’re at an important moment for the Tour. We’re at the start of a new season, with a refreshed identity and now a documentary that tells our story properly. What makes this Tour special is the combination of world-class competition, iconic players and genuine access for amateur golfers.
“I’m incredibly excited for people to see what goes on behind the scenes and to be inspired by a generation of golfers who continue to dream big and realise their ambitions, irrespective of age.”

Rather than focusing solely on the action inside the ropes, Final Cut turns its attention to the wider ecosystem that keeps the Legends Tour running. The cameras follow Chairman and majority shareholder Ryan Howsam along with players, staff and partners whose work has helped shape the modern era of the circuit.
Across the series, audiences are taken inside tournament operations, player preparations and the everyday realities of managing a global golf tour. The result is a candid portrait of a competition that has grown steadily in stature while maintaining the character that has made it popular with fans.
A new chapter begins for the Legends Tour in 2026
The documentary arrives at a significant moment for the Tour. The recently announced partnership with Staysure as title sponsor and a broadened international schedule signals the start of a new phase for the Legends Tour in 2026. New destinations and iconic venues feature heavily on the calendar while the popular amateur participation programmes continue to expand.
Amateur golfers share the fairways with legends
Through Pro-Am events and the multi-day Legends Experience format, amateur golfers are given the opportunity to share the fairways with some of the sport’s most decorated figures. Major champions and Ryder Cup stalwarts remain central to the appeal of the Tour and the series captures the atmosphere that comes with that unique blend of elite competition and fan engagement.
Staysure Legends Tour documentary highlights dramatic Marbella opener
The current season itself began in February in Marbella where a strong field assembled for the opening event. Familiar names such as Colin Montgomerie, Thomas Bjørn, José María Olazábal and Miguel Ángel Jiménez all featured in a week that delivered a dramatic finish.
Ryder Cup player Jamie Donaldson emerged victorious after birdieing the final hole to edge out his former Gleneagles 2014 team-mate Stephen Gallacher. The late flourish provided an early highlight for the campaign and set an upbeat tone for the months ahead.

David Adams, Managing Director of Staysure Legends Tour, commented:
“This series really shows the heartbeat of the Tour. It respects the legacy of our iconic players while also showing how we’re evolving and reaching new audiences. After the energy we saw in Marbella at our first tournament of the year, this feels like the perfect time to share that story.”
The personalities shaping the Legends Tour
Away from the tournament leaderboard, Final Cut also shines a light on the personalities that define the Legends Tour. Viewers hear from some of the game’s most recognisable figures including Montgomerie, Paul McGinley, Michael Campbell, Olazábal, Jiménez, Ian Woosnam, David Howell, Gallacher and Paul Lawrie as they reflect on competition, friendship and life on the circuit.
Golf meets modern media and new audiences
Filmed across multiple tournaments and locations, the series also explores the evolving relationship between golf and modern media. With digital creators playing an increasingly visible role in the sport, the programme looks at how traditional competition intersects with a new wave of content-driven audiences.
One example comes in the form of former footballer Jimmy Bullard who swapped boots for clubs to compete in the 2025 Costa Navarino Legends Tour Trophy. His appearance highlights the growing crossover between sport and entertainment and the sometimes unfiltered reactions that follow.
