SO/ Sotogrande Spa & Golf Resort Hotel was ranked No. 6 in the Best Resorts in Rest of Europe category of Condé Nast Traveller’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards released on 7 October.

Condé Nast Traveller received more than 296,356 survey responses from UK readers rating their travel experiences around the world.

“We are incredibly proud to see SO/ Sotogrande recognised by the readers of Condé Nast Traveller. What makes this award particularly meaningful is that it reflects the experiences of the guests who have stayed with us, as well as the passion and dedication of our entire team,” said Stéphane Menou, the hotel’s general manager.

“More than a place to stay, SO/ Sotogrande invites guests to slow down, reconnect and embrace the Mediterranean ‘Art of Living’ at its most refined. We bring a bold, contemporary approach to luxury hospitality in one of Southern Europe’s most exclusive destinations, creating an experience that brings together wellness, gastronomy, sport and culture with an unmistakable sense of place and style.”

The 18-hole Alto Club and Golf Academy by Suzann Pettersen sit next to the hotel. Relaunched in 2025 from the former Almenara club, Alto offers four tee options, while the academy includes a nine-hole par-3 course, coaching facilities and a driving range with covered and uncovered bays.

Sotogrande also has three courses in Golf Digest’s Spanish top six: Real Club Valderrama, Real Club de Golf Sotogrande and La Reserva Club. The latter, designed by Cabell B. Robinson, is around 10 minutes’ drive from the hotel.

The resort’s 3,500-square-metre Spa & Wellness Club provides an option for post-round recovery, while four dining venues feature Andalusian produce. The marina, Mediterranean coast, sailing and polo add further ways to spend time away from the fairways.

The 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards are published on Condé Nast Traveller’s website at cntraveller.com/inspiration/readers-choice-awards and celebrated in the November issue.
