Angkor Golf Resort in Siem Reap, Cambodia, plans to reopen in early November 2026 with Troon International supporting preparations as its new strategic adviser, the resort announced on 7 October.

The planned return comes ahead of the peak golf tourism season, putting the Sir Nick Faldo-designed course back into consideration for travellers looking to combine championship golf with the temples of Angkor.

Preparing for November

Troon International’s teams responsible for agronomy and operations are already collaborating with Angkor’s existing staff, with the initial emphasis on course conditions and preparing the facilities for visitors. A wider programme of specialist on-site support is scheduled to begin during the fourth quarter of 2026.

The advisory role additionally encompasses international golf tourism, learning and development for staff, procurement, finance, and marketing and sales. Troon’s global network will be used to promote the resort and Siem Reap to overseas golfers.

Owner Neak Oknha Holic Tandijono said the resort’s ambitions include improving standards and playability, enhancing the guest experience and establishing Siem Reap more firmly as an international golf destination.

Golf and the Angkor temples

Angkor’s par-72 course stretches to 7,279 yards and has previously hosted international professional golf. The resort also has a full-length driving range, practice facilities and a clubhouse.

Siem Reap provides the cultural draw. The resort is within easy reach of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Angkor Archaeological Park, where Angkor Wat and the Bayon temple at Angkor Thom are among the attractions.

Golfers considering a broader Cambodia itinerary can also look to Vattanac Golf Resort in Phnom Penh, where Troon has an established relationship. That venue offers 36 holes designed by Faldo.

Vattanac is scheduled to host the Legends Tour on 27–29 November and again on 4–6 December, as detailed in Golf Today’s coverage of its back-to-back season finale events.

Check before booking

Angkor Golf Resort previously announced a closure from 1 June 2026 for renovation work and restructuring. Its new early-November reopening target differs from a Golf Siem Reap tee-time listing dated 24 September, which gave 1 July 2027 as the reopening date.

Travellers planning a November round should confirm the reopening date and tee-time availability directly with the resort before committing to flights, accommodation or a golf package.

GolfToday Verdict: Angkor’s planned return makes Siem Reap worth considering for a golf-and-temples holiday, with confirmed tee-time availability the first requirement before booking.
