Autumn golf breaks are to the Manor born

Combine thrilling golf, exceptional accommodation and mouth-watering dining options

Golfers searching for an autumn staycation to remember can pay a visit to one of the ‘prettiest villages in the country’ while combining thrilling golf, exceptional accommodation and mouth-watering dining options at The Manor House.

Located in Castle Combe, named the prettiest village in the UK last year by FBM Holidays, the Wiltshire estate boasts an enviable reputation among avid golfers.

The delightful 18-hole championship course, designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark, is immersed in the enchanting surroundings of the Cotswolds with 365 acres of breathtaking rolling countryside as a backdrop, offering some of the most idyllic scenery.

The mature oak and beech trees that line the beautifully manicured fairways, together with the immaculate greens and the River Bybrook meandering through the middle, bring both drama and beauty to the 6,500-yard parkland course, which is rightly considered one of the best in the south west.

With a range of stay and play packages on offer this autumn, golfers can experience the course and everything else The Manor House has to offer. From £140 per person, guests can enjoy a round of golf and accommodation in The Castle Inn in a standard room as well as a full English breakfast and £35 towards dinner.

Castle Combe

The Castle Inn, recently named at number 37 in Estrella Damm’s top 50 gastropubs, is a cosy 12th-century pub which sits in the heart of the village offering 12 unique en-suite bedrooms and delicious homemade food. The pub is particularly popular among groups of golfers looking to relax after a day on the fairways.

Those wishing to stay in the venue’s award-winning luxury hotel can do so from £205 per person per night. Included in the package is a round of golf and much more, including a full Manor House breakfast and £35 towards dinner.

For those looking for the ultimate golf break experience however, The Manor House is also home to the Michelin starred Bybrook restaurant, a relaxed, elegant atmosphere where the brigade of talented chefs serves delicious seasonal dishes crafted with local ingredients.

In recent months, the golf club has also continued its push towards being as carbon friendly as possible. 160 solar panels have been installed on the greenkeepers equipment store and clubhouse to help power the new fleet of buggies, with figures suggesting the installation will stop the release of 11,507kg of carbon dioxide per annum.
