Russell Henley fired an 8-under par 64 at Spyglass Hill to take a one-shot lead at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
“I feel like today the course was gettable a little bit,” said the American. “It was a little less windy and rainy than I’ve played in years past. Feel like I was reading the greens well and hitting my lines. You know, just really happy with 8 under any course I play.
Henley has won four times on the PGA Tour, most recently at the 2022 World Wide Technology Championship. He finished in a tie for No. 4 in the 2024 FedExCup standings, his first top-five result in the FedExCup. He has finished in the top 100 in each of his first twelve seasons on Tour.
Seven players are tied in second place at 7-under including 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am champion Justin Rose of England who seeks to become the event’s 13th multiple winner.
Also tied in second place in his first start as a member, PGA Tour rookie Rasmus Højgaard earned his card as the leading finisher from the 2024 DP World Tour Race to Dubai.
Playing in his season debut at Spyglass Hill Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland and Ireland’s Shane Lowry, at Pebble Beach, both recorded holes-in-one at the par-3s 15th and 7th respectively and are tied in 8th place at 6-under.
Making his season debut, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler of the USA opened with a 5-under 67 at Spyglass Hill and lies in T15.
