Brandt Snedeker has completed the United States team for the 2026 Presidents Cup by selecting Jackson Koivun, Chris Gotterup, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay and Jacob Bridgeman.
They join automatic qualifiers Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, Wyndham Clark, Russell Henley, Sam Burns and Collin Morikawa on the 12-player roster for Medinah.
The 21-year-old Koivun turned professional after helping Auburn win the NCAA Championship and has needed only three months to reach his first senior United States team.
International Team captain Geoff Ogilvy has selected Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Corey Conners, Nico Echavarria, Ryo Hisatsune, Sungjae Im and Nick Taylor to complete his 12-man roster.
They join automatic qualifiers Si Woo Kim, Ryan Fox, Hideki Matsuyama, Min Woo Lee, Tom Kim and Adam Scott representing Australia, Canada, Colombia, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa and South Korea.
The captains announced their picks on Tuesday during a live Golf Channel programme from PGA Tour Studios in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
Koivun earns rapid promotion
Koivun was 48th on the US points list and 66th in the Official World Golf Ranking, making him the least conventional of Snedeker’s picks. His results since leaving college provided a compelling case.
In July, Koivun won the 3M Open in his third professional start, shooting a bogey-free final-round 66 to beat Scheffler by three strokes. His 25-under total set a tournament scoring record, while he led the field in Strokes Gained: Approach the Green.
Koivun then played his way into the FedExCup Playoffs despite making only five professional starts. He was the former world No. 1 amateur, holding the top spot in the amateur ranking for 56 consecutive weeks and winning a school-record 11 college titles.
“It’s rare to see a player this young demonstrate the level of poise and confidence that Jackson has, even before turning professional,” Snedeker said. “We’ve had the opportunity to speak on several occasions, and his maturity and work ethic have always stood out.”
Koivun joins Gotterup and Bridgeman as the three Presidents Cup rookies on the American side.

Gotterup and Bridgeman rewarded for winning seasons
Gotterup finished seventh in the US standings, narrowly missing automatic qualification after winning three times during the season. Ranked seventh in the world, he gives Snedeker a powerful driver who can be paired with a strong wedge player in either team format.
The 26-year-old began the campaign by winning the Sony Open with a closing 64. He led that field in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee and later reached East Lake ranked sixth in the FedExCup standings.
“He embraces big stages and has shown he can contend against the best players in the world,” Snedeker said. “This is a well-deserved milestone in his career.”
Bridgeman qualified 12th in the team standings and is 28th in the world. His clearest asset is putting, having led the PGA Tour in Strokes Gained: Putting this season.
He also demonstrated his ability under pressure when he won his first PGA Tour title at Riviera. Bridgeman began the final round of the Genesis Invitational six shots clear and held off a chasing group led by Rory McIlroy to win by one.
Schauffele and Cantlay restore a proven pairing
Schauffele and Cantlay each own a 10-4-0 Presidents Cup record across three appearances. Their partnership offers Snedeker an established foursomes combination after both players missed automatic qualification.
Schauffele is 4-1-0 in Presidents Cup foursomes, with every one of those matches played alongside Cantlay. He has also never lost a singles match in the competition.
Cantlay spent much of the season outside the leading 12 on points but strengthened his case during the closing weeks. He finished second after a closing 68 at the BMW Championship, climbing into the top 30 of the FedExCup standings and earning a return to East Lake.
Thomas returns after missing the 2024 Presidents Cup in Montreal. He has a 10-3-2 record across three appearances and is unbeaten in six four-ball matches, although none of his previous Presidents Cup partners made this roster.
“Justin has always embraced the responsibility and privilege of representing the United States,” Snedeker said. “He loves team competition, he thrives in the atmosphere and he has a way of energizing both his teammates and the fans around him.”
Scheffler leads six automatic qualifiers
World No. 1 Scheffler topped the qualifying standings and will make his third Presidents Cup appearance. His 3-5-0 competition record includes a 3-2-0 return in Montreal, where he formed an effective partnership with Henley.
Henley went 3-1-0 on debut in 2024 and has played each of his five Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup team matches alongside Scheffler. He also arrives after a season featuring his sixth PGA Tour victory at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
Young qualified second after winning The Players Championship and the Cadillac Championshipp. Clark secured third place by winning the BMW Championship, his third title of the season.
Burns returns following an unbeaten 3-0-1 performance in Montreal, while Morikawa brings a 6-2-0 Presidents Cup record despite managing a back injury during the season.
The United States has won the past 10 Presidents Cups. Several members of Snedeker’s roster were also involved in last year’s home Ryder Cup defeat, giving Medinah’s team another chance in match play.
Snedeker, who claimed his 10th PGA Tour title in May, also confirmed that the opening session will feature five Four-ball matches.
Ogilvy’s Experienced Picks
Bezuidenhout returns for his third Presidents Cup after earning 3.5 points from five matches across the 2022 and 2024 editions. In 21 PGA Tour starts this season, the 32-year-old South African posted six top-25 finishes.
“Christiaan has experience in this event that would have been difficult to leave on the table,” Ogilvy said. “He knows what to expect and he delivers. That’s why I’ve selected him.”
Im will make his fourth appearance, bringing a 6-7-2 career record. The South Korean reached the BMW Championship after moving from 53rd to 40th in the FedExCup standings at TPC Southwind, then finished tied 10th at Bellerive.
Conners was also selected for a third consecutive Presidents Cup. The Canadian made the cut in all four majors during 2026 and finished tied 14th at The Open Championship.

Echavarria and Hisatsune to Make Their Debuts
Hisatsune, 23, qualified for the FedExCup Playoffs for the first time and finished 47th in the standings. His five top-10 finishes included a career-best tied second at the Farmers Insurance Open and a tied-12th result at the BMW Championship.
Echavarria secured his place after winning the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beachess, his third PGA Tour title. He becomes the third Colombian to represent the International Team, following Camilo Villegas and Sebastián Muñoz.
Taylor made 21 cuts in 23 starts and reached the FedExCup Playoffs for a fifth straight season. The five-time PGA Tour winner finished 63rd in the standings.
