Founded by three career tour caddies, Caddy Clubhouse has launched a new app that brings golfers, clubs and qualified caddies together on a digital platform, while aiming to set industry-wide standards for the profession.
Announced on 16 June 2026, the app lets clubs, resorts, tournament organisers and individual golfers book caddies straight through the system. Caddies can create professional profiles, liaise with caddie masters and handle bookings, payments, gratuities and availability in one place. The platform is designed for recreational rounds, corporate golf days and competitive play.
Caddy Clubhouse is also pushing accredited education pathways and tiered certification programmes. Three certification levels are available, ranging from a self-paced online entry course at £389 covering green reading, yardage books and etiquette, up to a two-day in-person training programme at £2,195 led by the founders and guest instructors in small cohorts of 12.
The Founders
Jonathan Smart, Chris Rice and Adam Marrow founded the company, bringing a combined 26 professional victories from careers across the DP World Tour and other competitions.

Smart spent 17 years on tour, most notably carrying the bag for Danny Willett during his 2016 Masters victory at Augusta National. Rice contributed to nine professional wins across 19 years working with players including Tyrrell Hatton and Pablo Larrazábal. Marrow has more than two decades of experience and has been on the bag for Ryder Cup and Olympic Games appearances alongside Thomas Pieters and Lucas Bjerregaard.
“Caddies have always been fundamental to the game, but the profession has never had a recognised set of standards to support it, This is about recognising that impact properly, and creating structure, standards and opportunity that reflect the level this profession is already operating at.”
Early Partners and Backers
Caddy Clubhouse has already partnered with Centurion Club, Foxhills Club & Resort and The San Roque Club, supporting those venues in developing caddie programmes for members and guests. In October 2025, the company also announced a partnership with 59club to integrate caddie surveys and mystery testing into service benchmarking.
The venture is backed by ION 54, a portfolio company of global golf business 54, and technology investor OWOW. Ed Edwards, CEO at 54, said the platform
“brings new energy and professionalism to a critical part of the golf experience.”
For clubs, Caddy Clubhouse offers a scheduling dashboard, a mobile caddie app and QR payment for golfers, with what the company describes as a zero-financial-risk model for caddie programmes.
