The Genesis Championship was the tournament chosen to wrap up the ‘Back 9’ swing of the newly revamped Race to Dubai. Woo Jeong Hills CC replaced the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club as host, with 835 Race to Dubai points on offer for the winner. The top 70 in the standings at the end of the Genesis advance to the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship at Yas Links GC – the first of two Playoff events.

Big guns in the shake up
As we head towards Abu Dhabi there are still several players with their hats in the ring to take down the Race to Dubai title in its volatile format. The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship offers the winner 1,500 points. Yas Links CC has seen Thomas Pieters, Victor Perez and Paul Waring win here in the last three years.
In what is the second edition of the revamped DP World Tour Play-offs we then see a field cut to just 50 ahead of the season ending DP World Tour Championship from the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai.
With a number of candidates in the mix, make sure to visit the golf betting sites with odds from the new platform FIRST.com to get the best value for the events.
Rory McIlroy heads to Abu Dhabi and the DP World Tour Play-offs as European no.1 with over 4,000 points amassed. He’s looking to win the Harry Vardon Trophy for the seventh time.

Marco Penge has enjoyed a breakout season with three wins, starting at the Hainan Classic and culminating with a win in the Open de Espana, with a win in Denmark sandwiched in between. Penge will start at Yas Links at no.2 in the rankings and the Earth course in Dubai is set up for Penge’s ball striking and power hitting.

In with a shout
Several other players are still in the running for the Harry Vardon trophy: Tyrell Hatton loves Yas Links, and he has won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship before, albeit at a different course.
Alex Noren is number eight in the Race to Dubai standings and recently won the British Masters and the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth to become the most successful Swedish DP World Tour player of all time.
Winner of the Alfred Dunhill links Championship and Ryder Cup star Robert Macintyre also lurks at no.5 in the points list.

It’s a big task for these guys to catch the top two but with $9m and 9,000 points on offer in Abu Dhabi and $12m and 10,000 points (with 2,000 to the winner) in Dubai, anything can happen. Both tournaments are Rolex Series events, two of just five in 2025.
DP World Tour Bonus Pool
The leading 10 players from the Race to Dubai bonus pool list at the conclusion of the DP World Tour Championship will share a bonus purse of $6m so long as they have competed in at least four qualifying tournaments in 2025 which must include the DP World Tour Championship.
There are also 10 PGA Tour cards up for grabs for the top 10 eligible players not already exempted on the points list after the DP World Tour Championship. Still plenty to play for!
