Anne van Dam has completed Europe’s 12-player team for the 2026 PING Junior Solheim Cup, naming six captain’s picks after the qualifying campaign.

The biennial match against the United States will be played at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands on 7–8 September. For the first time, the junior competition and Solheim Cup will use the same course, with the senior match following from 11–13 September.

Spain has the largest contingent with four players, while the Czech Republic, Germany, England, Switzerland and France are also represented.

Europe’s 12-player team

The six leading eligible players in the 2026 European Ranking secured automatic places after the R&A Girls’ Amateur Championship, the last of 10 qualifying events.

Qualified through the European Ranking:

  • Anna Ludvová, Czech Republic
  • Adriana García Terol, Spain
  • Lena Geier, Germany
  • Sofía Maier-Borst, Germany
  • Lauren Crump, England
  • Lana Guyot, Switzerland

Captain’s picks:

  • Axelle Guillemard, France
  • Alice Kong, France
  • Carlota López Minguela, Spain
  • Marta Muñoz, Spain
  • Annabel Peaford, England
  • Carolina Pérez-Tasso, Spain

Muñoz received a pick after beating García Terol in the R&A Girls’ Amateur Championship final at Craigielaw on Saturday, 15 August. Geier won the tournament’s stroke-play stage, Guyot reached the semi-finals and Guillemard advanced to the quarter-finals.

Crump had strengthened her qualification position by winning the ANNIKA Invitational Europe by 10 shots in June. Maier-Borst finished second there, while Ludvová had occupied a leading ranking position for much of the campaign.

Van Dam returns as captain

Van Dam represented Europe in the 2013 PING Junior Solheim Cup before playing in the senior Solheim Cup in 2019. The 30-year-old Dutch player will also serve as a vice-captain to Anna Nordqvist during the senior match at Bernardus.

Van Dam said she had watched many of the contenders at the European Girls Team Championship in Zurich in June.

“I’m thrilled to announce my team, and congratulations to all the girls. It was a pleasure to be at the European Girls Team Championship in Zurich in June to watch many of the girls compete, and I was incredibly impressed by their level and professionalism.”

Van Dam said staging both matches on the same course made captaining the side in her home country more meaningful.

“Leading them in my home country is a great source of pride, particularly because we will make history by playing on the Solheim Cup course for the first time.”

Bronte Law will serve as European vice-captain. Law and Van Dam were members of the 2013 junior side and later represented Europe together in the 2019 Solheim Cup.

Match schedule and United States opposition

Six foursomes matches and six fourball matches will be played on Monday, 7 September. All 24 players will contest singles the following day.

Morgan Pressel will captain the United States team, becoming the first former American PING Junior Solheim Cup player to hold the role. Pressel competed in the junior match in 2002 and 2005 before making six senior Solheim Cup appearances.

The United States leads the series 8-4-1. Europe won in 2021 and 2023 before the Americans recorded an 18.5-5.5 victory in Virginia in 2024.

This year’s match will be the 14th edition of a competition whose former players include Charley Hull, Carlota Ciganda, Nelly Korda and Lexi Thompson.

Tickets for Solheim Cup week

Tickets for Solheim Cup week include grounds passes and hospitality options. Children under 16 can attend free throughout the week, while admission for the PING Junior Solheim Cup has been advertised from €23.75 per day.

The junior players will remain at Bernardus after their match to watch the Solheim Cup, which begins on Friday, 11 September.
