INFINITUM, the renowned 45-hole golf resort on Spain’s Costa Dorada, is set to develop its Hills course with a significant renovation, further solidifying its status as one of the top golf destinations in Spain.
The Hills course, originally crafted by Alfonso Vidaor, will undergo a redesign by European Golf Design under the direction of Dave Sampson, known for his work on Rome’s Marco Simone course, the venue for the 2023 Ryder Cup.
Renovation work will begin in December 2024. During the initial nine months, players will have the unique opportunity to experience a composite course combining the first nine holes of the Hills with nine holes from the Ruins course, designed by two-time Major winner Greg Norman.
The second phase of the renovation, expected to conclude by early 2026, will focus on the front nine holes of the Hills, which will be temporarily closed.
This renovation comes on the heels of ongoing improvements to INFINITUM’s Lakes course, another Greg Norman design, which is undergoing an €800,000 bunker renovation to be completed in time for the DP World Tour Qualifying School Final Stage in November.
INFINITUM’s trio of courses, along with its extensive practice facilities and a recently added Callaway Fitting Studio, have made the resort a prime destination for national golf federations across Europe.
The resort is also set to host the Denmark-based ECCO Tour in winter 2025, where Scandinavia’s top emerging golf talents will be among the first to play the temporary Hills/Ruins course.
Joaquín Mora Bertrán, INFINITUM’s Deputy General Manager of Golf, Beach Club, and F&B, emphasised the importance of maintaining world-class standards: “As our real estate, lifestyle, and leisure offering continues to grow at INFINITUM, it’s never been more important to us that our golf courses are held to the same world-class standards.”
Beyond golf, INFINITUM offers a complete getaway experience with Mediterranean cuisine, luxury real estate, and top-tier lifestyle amenities.
The resort’s Beach Club, recently named ‘Europe’s Leading Beach Club’ for the third consecutive year at the World Travel Awards, exemplifies the resort’s commitment to excellence.
