Pádraig Harrington eagled the par-5 1st hole and went on to fire three birdies and two bogeys for a 67 to win the ISPS HANDA Senior Open by three shots at 16-under.

This was the Irishman’s second consecutive major title on PGA Tour Champions this year having won the US Senior Open last month. He becomes the fifth player to win the Open Championship (2007, 2008) and ISPS HANDA Senior Open, joining Bob Charles, Gary Player, Tom Watson and Darren Clarke.

Harrington is the only player on PGA Tour Champions with multiple wins in each season since 2022; 4 wins (2022), 2 wins (2023), 3 wins (2024), 2 wins (2025).

“As you get older you realise a lot of things, [including] legacy,” said Harrington.

“You want to win on a great golf course like Sunningdale, you want to do things that stand out and having won The Open, and now winning the Senior Open it does give some validation. It is certainly satisfying to do it, extend your career that way.

“There are some great names on the trophy. I was looking at the board inside with all the winners and it’s a deep sense of satisfaction knowing that I’ve done both.”

American Justin Leonard made two bogeys and closed with a 68 to post 13-under and finish runner-up. The 53-year-old, who finished T59 at last week’s Open Championship, earned his best finish in a major on PGA Tour Champions.

Denmark’s Thomas Bjørn tied for second after carding a 67 for the second consecutive day. This is his fourth top-4 finish in his last six starts.

For the second consecutive day, Australia’s Scott Hend matched the low round, shooting 64-65 on the weekend and finishing fourth at 12-under.

18-hole leader Steven Alker of New Zealand carded a 68 having made two bogeys and finished seventh at 10-under. He notched his 11th top-10 finish of the season (13 starts) to match Charles Schwab Cup leader Miguel Angel Jiménez (T24) for the most top-10s among all players in 2025.
