LIV Golf Dallas is the ninth event in the 2025 season, and more importantly, it is the penultimate tournament before the Open Championship.
At the time of writing, a handful of Liv Golfers have secured their places at Royal Portrush, including Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm.
With just five events left until the Individual Championship at the end of August, a host of players will be hoping for a solid week in the Lone Star State.
Joaquin Niemann currently leads the standings on 165.52 points, which is nearly 45 points clear of DeChambeau in second.
The Chilean golfer has been the standout performer this season. Over the first eight events of the 2025 season, he has won four times and finished no lower than 33rd.
In the team championship, however, things are tighter. Indeed, while Legion XIII lead the way with 138.66 points, their advantage over second place is just ten points.
This sets up the final few events rather nicely.
Last season, Maridoe Golf Club played host to the team championship. In 2025, this honour goes to the Cardinal at Saint John’s in Michigan.
As such, Dallas now plays host to a regular individual event on the calendar. One where many of the LIV Golf contingent had played before.
Course details: Maridoe Golf Club
Designed by Steve Smyers, the 7,817-yard course was opened in 2017 and has played host to the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball while also hosting various other amateur events over the years.
The stunning design is built around a 31-acre lake, and this comes into play across several holes on the course.
None more so than the fifth, which is a short par-4 measuring just 333 yards. While this sort of distance will be music to the ears of the longer hitters, water comes into play both off the tee and on approach shots.
Only two of the par-4s on the course measure longer than 420 yards, indicating that there could be plenty of birdie opportunities.
DeChambeau, Dean Burmester and Niemann will certainly try and take full advantage, as the trio averages over 325 yards in driving distance this season.
LIV Golf Dallas 2025: Format and prize fund
LIV Golf Dallas will be played over 54 holes across three days, with a shotgun start each day and no cut.
Every player in a team competes in two competitions simultaneously – individual and team – with each stroke counting in the individual event, whereas only the combined scores of the team’s top three players count for the opening two rounds.
All four scores count in the final round of each event.
There is a $25m prize fund on offer. $20m is assigned to the individual competition, with $5m going towards the team event.
The winner will take home a $4m share, with last place earning $50,000. In the team event, £3m goes to the winning foursome as the second and third place finishers win $1.5m and $500,000 respectively.
How to watch LIV Golf Dallas
Viewers in the US can watch all of the action on Fox Sports. Those in the UK will now be able to watch the entire 2025 season on ITVX due to the new broadcasting deal that was agreed in February.
