With the UK golf season traditionally beginning in April (thanks to the eagerly-awaited longer and, hopefully, warmer, drier days) this could be the time to replace the old mud-spattered trolley bag with a new, fresher model.
PING has unveiled its latest range of trolley bags, three of which are a refreshed and updated versions of the DLX, PIONEER and TRAVERSE models.

Seamless Organisation
All three of PING’s updated models offer distinct features to suit any golfer’s preference for storage and style when it comes toselecting a well-manufactured trolley bag (or cart if you prefer to call it that). However, the TRAVERSE model offers seamless organisation.
This bag has been upgraded with a more streamlined aesthetic and a re-engineered 14-way durable top with dedicated spaces for each club, including a spacious zone especially for the putter. The ever important pockets for all the bits and bobs a golfer needs for their round have been re-arranged into a new tiered pocket system with the inclusion of a specific range-finder pocket, perfect for those that like to have a place for everything and everything in its place. With a recommended retail price of £219, bags of storage and organisation is on offer in a range of colours including, Black, Blue-Black, Scarlet, Navy-Platinum-Gold, Blue-White-Red, Heather Grey-Black-White and Dark Green-Grey-Navy.
Tour Inspired
PING’s Tour Staff Bag (the bag of choice by PING professionals around the world) is another of its bags to have had a bit of a make-over and be included in the 2025 season’s range. This tour-worthy bag is now 10.6lbs lighter than it was before making it so much more appealing when considering moving it on and off the trolley. It offers amateur golfers the “tour-level experience” with it’s customisable ball and belly panels, its 13 spacious pockets and full-length compartments ideal for golf clothing either needing to be handy to put on or needing handy space to be stored when removed during the the round.
Also heavily reflective of the “tour experience”, the DLX certainly looks like it could handle a Tour event. £100 less than its Tour Staff Bag cousin, at £329, the DLX features 15 pockets, each one thoughtfully designed to offere the ideal space for storing valuables and all the usual golfing accoutrements. There’s a quick and easy key clip and glove port so all golf paraphernalia is catered for. The bag has deployable shoe pouches and an upper and lower magnetic pocket (with moulded grips to make access and handling easy and efficient).
Real thought has gone into both the design of the bag and each of its pockets. Details like the metal zips on the pockets being easy to tuck away. Not only does this prevent catching or the zips working themselves open, but the bag looks neat and ticy in itself. Made from vinyl leather, this durable, high-quality bag not only looks the part but also feels the part as it is soft to the touch, and the fact it is easy to clean means there is little excuse not to have a sharp looking bag well beyond the end of this golf season.
Functional and Versatile
It’s not just a round of golf where storage and organisation of clubs, clothing and essentials is really important, it’s practice too. This is where PING’s PIONEER offers something slightly different to the Traverse or DLX.
Whilst having 16 pockets and an impresive 35litre pocket volume, the PIONEER features a specific alignment stick sleeve, designed to sit against the body of the bag. There is no need to throw the stick in with the clubs and have it rattling around loosely when it has its own designated place built into the bag. Also featured is a removable, clip-in valuables pouch and a rain hood which is zipped neatly at the back of the bag with a stretched cord attachment to ensure it won’t get lost (although there are plenty of pockets to put it into if rain is not on the forecast!). Priced at a mid-point £249.00 this bag has even more functionality than it did in its previous iteration.
Of course, whilst April brings the expectation of longer, sunnier days, there is the reality of showers and heavy downpours, so the PIONEER MONSOON is worth a mention here. The name heavily hints that it has been constructed as a water-repellent trolley bag and designed for wet-weather play. The pockets are seam-sealed to prevent moisture making its way inside and to ensure clothing and stuff stored within is kept dry.
