Ben Griffin carded a bogey-free 6-under 66 on Friday to reach 14-under and take the lead at the Procore Championship. He leads the field in Approach Shot Proximity: 24 feet, 5 inches and is one of two players still bogey-free through 36 holes.

“Trying to hit a lot of fairways and simple stuff. You guys hear it all the time. Literally trying to give myself as many birdie looks as possible. Especially here because the fairways are so tight, you don’t know what type of lie you’re going to get in the rough. It’s very spotty in terms of the thickness of the rough, so it’s really important to kind of keep it in the fairway. This week I’m trying to literally do the same stuff I’m doing. I’m trying to stay confident, stay motivated and keep the pedal down.”

The American holds his fourth 36-hole lead/co-lead on the PGA Tour and is 1-for-3 to date in converting to victory (2023 Sanderson Farms Championship/T2, 2025 Memorial Tournament/2nd, 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge/Won).

In 28 starts this season Griffin has notched ten top-10 finishes, tied with Russell Henley for second most by any player (most: 16, Scottie Scheffler).

After playing the par-5 holes in 5-under through two rounds, he is now 316-under on par-5 holes since the start of the 2024 PGA Tour season, the most of any player during that period; next best: Harry Hall (270), Scottie Scheffler (269).

American Russell Henley made two bogeys and closed with a 68 to take a share of second place at 11-under. He has carded sixteen birdies over the first two rounds, the most of any player through 36 holes.

“I’ve been making a lot of putts,” said Henley. “I feel like I was — I made a ton of putts yesterday, I got off to a really hot start today.

“I feel like I’m hitting a lot of fairways, and when I do I’m able to attack a little bit. If I could birdie ’em all, I would, but it’s a hard game.”

Amateur Jackson Koivun of the USA eagled the par-5 12th and made six birdies and two bogeys for a 66 and a share of second place.

J.J. Spaun, also bogey-free through two rounds, carded a 68 and moved into a share of fourth place at 9-under alongside fellow American Lanto Griffin who made three birdies and one bogey for a 70.

After making a career-best eleven birdies in an opening-round 63, first-round leader Mackenzie Hughes of Canada carded no birdies for a 2-over 74 in the second round and moved down into T7 at 7-under.

Scottie Scheffler made six birdies and two bogeys for a 68 and lies in T14 at 6-under. He seeks a sixth victory this season and his first in California. A top-10 finish on Sunday would be his 15th in a row. He has had sixteen top-10s in 19 starts this season.

Defending champion Patton Kizzire of the United States missed the cut having made four birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey at the par-4 16th for a second-round 73.

FedExCup Fall

The 2025 Procore Championship is the first event of the FedExCup Fall, a group of seven tournaments played after the Tour Championship that finalizes eligibility for the 2026 PGA Tour Season.

At the conclusion of the final FedExCup Fall event (The RSM Classic), players inside the top 100 of the FedExCup Fall Points List will secure exempt status for 2026, while players finishing between Nos. 101-150 will have conditional status.

Nos. 1-50 in the FedExCup standings through the Tour Championship are locked in their positions while Nos. 51 and beyond carry their FedExCup points into the Fall. Nos. 51-60 through the FedExCup Fall will qualify for two Signature Events in 2026 (AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Genesis Invitational).

Winners of events during the FedExCup Fall receive the similar benefits of winners of Full-Field Events during the Regular Season, including 500 FedExCup points, Official World Golf Ranking points, a two-year PGA Tour exemption (exempt thru 2027) and invitations to The Sentry, The Players Championship and PGA Championship.
