Real Club de Golf Sotogrande set for DP World Tour showdown

The renowned Real Club de Golf Sotogrande will once again welcome world-class competition to the Andalucían region.

Sotogrande is once again set to play host to The Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters, as the prestigious event returns to the renowned Real Club de Golf Sotogrande. From October 17 to 20, attention will be on the luxurious golfing destination, where Spain’s finest golfers, alongside international stars, will compete on one of the top courses in Europe.

Real Club de Golf Sotogrande will be welcoming some of the biggest names in golf, with Spanish stars Jon Rahm, Pablo Larrazabal, Adri Arnaus, Jorge Campillo, and Nacho Elvira set to take centre stage.

This event is the second professional golf competition to be held in the region this year, following the LIV Andalucía event at Valderrama in July.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones, a name synonymous with some of the finest golf courses in the world, Real Club de Golf Sotogrande is ranked as the second-best course in Spain by Top100 Golf Courses and Today’s Golfer.

The historic venue sits just 150 meters from the Mediterranean, with the course’s stunning backdrop, framed by the rolling hills of Andalucía, offering a spectacular yet challenging environment for the world’s best golfers.

Out of more than 500 courses he designed globally, Jones himself considered Sotogrande one of his top five, cementing its legacy as a masterpiece of golf course architecture. It was also here that golfing legend Severiano Ballesteros triumphed, winning the Spanish Professional Open and forever linking the course with his storied career.

Andalucía Masters comes once again to Real Club Sotogrande. Sotogrande is synonymous with world-class golf, home to three of Spain’s top 10 courses, and we are excited to showcase our exceptional facilities and hospitality to an international audience for this DP World Tour event.”

The award-winning 5-star SO/ Sotogrande Spa and Golf Resort will be hosting golfers and their families, providing a retreat that combines world-class amenities with the charm of the Sotogrande lifestyle. As Jordao further explains, “SO/ Sotogrande provides a unique glimpse into the lifestyle that Sotogrande offers its residents, and we hope the elite of the world of golf is able to enjoy this golf retreat along with their families during the tournament.”

The appeal of Sotogrande doesn’t end with these renowned courses either, with Almenara Golf set to debut a state-of-the-art golf academy next year.
