January 07-10
Plantation Course at Kapalua, Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii
$6,700,000

Harris English missed a 10-foot eagle putt on the par-5 18th at Kapalua closing with a 4-under 69. Joaquin Niemann shot eight birdies through fourteen holes on Sunday and matched the low score of the tournament with a 64 but crucially missed his birdie putt, sending him into a playoff with English.

Niemann missed his birdie putt on the extra hole while English closed with a six-foot birdie putt to win the Sentry Tournament of Champions, his first title since his win at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba in 2014.

The Tournament of Champions field is usually composed of winners from the previous year and English would not have qualified for it but the field was expanded this year to include players who reached the Tour Championship because of the 3-month pandemic shut down. His win this week guarantees his return to Hawaii next year.

Justin Thomas signed for a 66 and finished third, narrowly missing out on the playoff.

Dustin Johnson, playing for the first time since his Masters win in November, made double bogey at the 12th and finished tied for eleventh putting an end to his streak of seven top-10s in a row.
