Simon Griffiths produced a composed final-round 67 to win the Costa Navarino Legends Tour Trophy by three shots, finishing on 12-under-par for his third Legends Tour title and first victory of the 2026 season.
Scotland’s David Drysdale finished runner-up on nine-under-par, while defending champion Peter Baker, Doug McGuigan, Ryder Cup star Joakim Haeggman and 2024 Costa Navarino champion Clark Dennis shared third on eight-under-par.
How the Final Round Unfolded
Drysdale made the early running on the International Olympic Academy Golf Course, one of two José María Olazábal-designed layouts at the Messinia resort, birdieing three of his opening five holes to take the outright lead. Baker also surged into contention during the opening stages.
The momentum shifted at the 12th, where Drysdale suffered a costly three-putt bogey after missing the green long. Haeggman then looked the likeliest challenger after birdies at the 10th and 11th moved the Swede into contention, but missed chances over the closing holes let Griffiths pull clear.
The decisive stretch came at the 13th and 14th, where Griffiths converted consecutive birdie putts while his nearest rivals could not.
“13 was big,” Griffiths said. “I hit it into about six feet. Haeggman missed and I holed, which was big. Then the next I hit it to maybe ten feet. He had about 12 feet, he missed and I holed, so it was just a bit of momentum going my way right when I needed it.”

A Win Griffiths Didn’t See Coming
The victory mattered to Griffiths, who had struggled with his form since last year’s Senior PGA Championship, where a frustrating putting streak began. Griffiths had recorded a three-putt in 68 consecutive rounds before Saturday’s final round.
“We have put an end to it. I putted really well today on the back nine, so that was lovely!” he said.
“I’m shocked to be honest. When I won the other two, I felt like I was playing well and I felt like I should have been out there, but I hadn’t played well for such a long time. You’re just not sure if it’s ever going to come back again. So yeah, I’m over the moon happy but a little bit shocked.”
Griffiths joined the Legends Tour in 2023 and won the Barry Lane Rookie of the Year award in 2024 before claiming his second title at the Staysure Marbella Legends early in 2025.
Drysdale and Dennis Left Ruing Missed Chances
Drysdale, who briefly held the lead, closed with a three-under-par round but could not sustain his fast start. “I got off to a really good start and had the lead at one point, so it’s a little disappointing,” he said. “I struggled on the greens all week.”
Dennis, meanwhile, recovered from a triple bogey at the seventh with an eagle at the 11th to stay in contention. “Other than that, I played very good,” the American said. “My irons were really nice today.”
The Legends Tour now heads to Ireland for the OFX Irish Legends at Carton House.
