The Experience Golf has launched a women-only tour of St Andrews for June 2027. The 1867 Club is a five-night, four-round trip built around a guaranteed tee time on the Old Course, and only 16 golfers will get a place.
The tour runs from 12 to 17 June. It opens on three contrasting links courses, Kingsbarns Golf Links, Dumbarnie Links and the Jubilee Course, before the group plays the Old Course on its final round. Kingsbarns alone is worth the trip for many, with its par-3 15th, whose green sits on the edge of the North Sea, a fixture in our guide to the UK’s best links.
Why the name?
The tour takes its name from 1867, the year women first putted around the Himalayas course at St Andrews. The famous putting course beside the Old Course is where the women’s game at the Home of Golf took its first steps. The company chose the name to honour that history and to give the women taking part a sense of belonging to something of their own.
Where the guarantee comes from
The St Andrews-based operator has arranged luxury golf trips for more than 30 years. As the original Authorised Provider appointed by the St Andrews Links Trust, it can secure Old Course tee times without its clients entering the daily ballot. That arrangement makes a fixed-date, fixed-group itinerary like this possible. Last month it extended the same model south, with stay-and-play packages across the Surrey and Berkshire heathland in partnership with Exclusive Collection.
“Our long-standing relationship with St Andrews and our expertise in creating luxury golf experiences allow us to bring together the very best of the Home of Golf in a way that feels personal, exclusive and truly memorable,” said Richard Payne, The Experience Golf’s director of commercial strategy and golf.
The stay
Guests are based for all five nights at the Old Course Hotel, which overlooks the course and the 17th, the Road Hole, whose tee shot is played over the corner of the hotel. The trip opens with a welcome dinner at 18 at Rusacks St Andrews and closes with a farewell dinner back at the Old Course Hotel. Between rounds there is time for the hotel spa and the town itself.
The package covers:
- group airport transfers from Edinburgh
- daily transfers between hotel and courses
- a full bag transfer service
- on-course refreshments and bespoke gifts
- a dedicated Experience Golf team on hand throughout
The tour is open to women aged 18 and over. Anyone wanting to make a longer Scottish trip of it can add extra rounds of championship golf, sightseeing, a distillery visit or other tailored experiences either side of the tour.
