USGA President George Herbert Walker (great-grandfather and grandfather of the 41st and 43rd US Presidents) drew up a plan and offered to donate a trophy, which became known as the Walker Cup.</p><p>The first Match in 1922 was won by the US 8-4, and although the US now lead 33 to 7 with one tie over 41 playings, the ten Matches to 2007 have been closer, shared five apiece.</p><p><strong>Match status</strong> </p><p>USA 33, GB&amp;I 7, 1 tie </p><p><strong>Largest winning team margin</strong></p><p> 14 United States d.
