Todd Clements started the day three shots off the lead and closed with a bogey-free 63 to reach 22-under and win his maiden DP World Tour title at the D+D Real Czech Masters.
“Given the circumstances that’s got to be the best round of my life. I’m over the moon. I’ve dreamt about winning for a long time and with my birthday coming up on Tuesday I couldn’t be happier.
“Three shots to make up is a tough ask but I knew I was playing well enough to get in amongst it. I feel like I did my job on every shot and obviously the luck was with me today because I holed a few long ones.”
Fellow Englishman Matt Wallace had a chance to force a playoff when his approach at the final hole left him nine feet from the hole but he missed and closed with a 67, one shot behind Clements.
Dane Nicolai Højgaard carded a 69 to finish in solo third place at 18-under ahead of six players in fourth at 17-under, including Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre (66).
