Dan Erickson closed with a birdie for an 8-under 64 and takes a one-shot lead at 11-under at the weather-affected Porsche Singapore Classic where 25 players are within four shots of the lead.

“It was a great round out there,” said the American. “It was a combination of everything, some good breaks, good shots and good putting all around.

“The memory of calling my parents a few months ago after getting my scorecard actually passed my mind on the course. You try not to think about it, but you just do and I was like, if you would have told me in October that I was going to be near the lead in the Porsche Singapore Classic and going to the last round, I would have thought you guys were on drugs or something.”

Erickson earned his DP World Tour card through Q-School in November and has only made one cut in three starts to date this season.

Overnight co-leader Matthew Jordan signed for a 69 and moved down into a share of second place at 10-under alongside fellow Englishman Richard Mansell who shot a 66 as well as Norther Ireland’s Tom McKibbin and France’s Adrien Saddier who shot 65 and 68 respectively.

England’s Marcus Armitage who held a share of the overnight lead closed with a 70 and lies in T7 at 9-under.
