As the 153rd Open approaches, The R&A have provided a list of resources for those who want to follow the final qualifying stages and find out which golfers get the last of the available places for Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland this July.
The Open is golf’s original championship. Played since 1860 on iconic links golf courses, it is the sport’s most international major championship with qualifying events on every continent. For one week each year, the pursuit of the famous Claret Jug trophy is the focus of the sporting world, followed globally by millions of fans.
But now, the qualifying criteria and rounds have been whittled down to just four final qualifying events. The final chance to be on the start sheet for round 1 of The Open takes place on 1st July across four venues – Burnham & Berrow, Dundonald, Royal Cinque Ports and West Lancashire.

288 golfers will battle it out in Final Qualifying for just 20 places available to compete at Royal Portrush in The Open, that is just five places per event!
The successful qualifiers will tee it up at the famous Dunluce links when the Championship is held there from 13-20 July.
